Early Morning Riser Vs. Diaper Trouble

I have a daughter that will be 2 on February 22. She is extremely active during the day so she is ready for bed by 7:30 each night. She is so easy. We put her to bed and she goes right to sleep. My problem is that every morning around 5:30 she is up and crying. I thought is was because 10 hours of sleep was enough for her so we kept her up later. She still wakes up and I think it is because her diaper is so wet she doesn't like it. I swear it weighs 10 lbs. She cries and says "poop" when she is just wet. I use pampers and they don't leak so she isn't wet. I think she would sleep longer if it didn't bug her. Should I use a nighttime diaper? Should I wake her up before I go to bed to change her? Or...should I just be thankful she sleeps 10 hours straight and adjust my schedule accordingly? :)

What can I do next?

My daughter did the same thing a year ago (when she was almost 2) we decided to get her overnight diapers (by huggies)and put that on her at night. If you daughter still wakes up then I would change her diaper before you go to bed. It can not hurt, I was just a quick when I had to do it and never had a problem. Good Luck but 5:30am is a little early and my daughter is also a really good sleeper. We had bedtime at 7:30pm at that age and once we changed the diaper thing she was sleeping 12hrs again. Good luck

I have a 2 year old that is a sound sleeper and I can change his diaper while he is sleeping and during naps. He is such a wiggle worm that for me its actually easier to change him while he is snoozing!

You know your child better than anyone else, if you think that you can successfully change her without waking her up, I would try that first. Good luck!

Before I just adjusted my schedule, I would try the other two options. I have successfully changed my sons diapers at night before I went to bed without waking him. Especially if you can tell they are wet already, go ahead and try that. It will at least make them less wet by 5:30. If that doesn't work, then try overnight diapers. Or you could try both and put the overnight diaper on when you go to bed. Huggies Overnights worked very well for us. Good luck!

I managed to change my daughters cloth diaper without waking her. And would do so before I went to bed.
Good luck, A. H

I'd say do what you have to do to keep your daughter comfortable. A Soggy Diaper is not comfortable, poor thing.

We used Cloth Diapers at night with our Super Soaker boy. They worked awesome and with a fleece liner against his skin he stayed dry no matter how heavy the diaper got.
