The BOB strollers are the best jogging strollers....I absolutely love mine...Moosejaw stores sell them or you can buy online.
Hi Ladies!
I am in the process of trying to purchase a jogging double stroller for me & my kids. I see a lot of moms out there using them so I was wondering which one you liked and what things I should look for in them. I am trying to start running (more like jogging) to get back into shape. =) One specification I guess would be the fact that I live on a dirt road and that's where I'll be running the most. Any advice/inputs would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Thank you everyone for your advice! It definitely helped me a lot!
After narrowing down to 2 choices (from online research), we decided to check them out. One at Moosejaw (the BOB Revolution) and the Schwinn InStep model. Unfortunately, Meijer didn't have it and Oak Park seemed a bit too far for us to go (our time on weekends is quite limited). We went to Moosejaw, saw what we liked and wound up buying the BOB Revolution. I've been using it ever since and it's wonderful! The suspensions on it are great and the swivel front wheel is a must! (I wouldn't have thought of that if someone hadn't mentioned it.) It is a bit bulky (have to take off the wheels to put into my Honda Accord trunk) but what double jogging stroller isn't? My older son who normally doesn't like to ride the stroller goes in there and enjoys listening to my ipod while i walk (or attempted jogging). I'm so glad the weather is finally nice so I can get out with my boys.
Thanks, again!

If your looking for a steal you might want to try the Ann Arbor Recycle center. My husband got my jogging stroller there and it was brand new.
Good luck! Happy Jogging!

Make sure you get one with a strap & brake`s that way you can stop if something happens. And always wear the strap for saftey reasons. We had one for our kids when they where little.

The other place to check out for a jogging stroller (and MANY other kids/baby items) is www.craigslist.com it is a free classified ads on line by state and city. It has a link for baby/kids along with many, many other links. We have outfitted our entire living room, bought things for our grand-kids as well as sold a jet ski, washer dryer etc. There is also a link for Free items as well as Wanted. It is just great!
We have a double jogger that my husband used. I believe it's made by In Step. We bought from a friend who had purchased it new ($300+ new). We paid $100. If you're interested in purchasing a used one that's in great shape, let me know. Perhaps we could talk..... My kids are getting too big for it.
I am in the same process. The one I like the best it the Schwinn Free Wheeler ST Double Jogging Stroller
It is a swivel wheel but it locks if you are going to jog with it. It has great reviews too - check it out on epinions. It seems to be good quality and actually fits through doors if you plan on using it for your "everything" stroller. It is middle of the road as far as prices go too. I have only been able to find it at one store to feel it out. It is a store in Oak Park called Olimpic Schwinn Bikes - on coolige hwy.
I will problably purchase it online cause the shipping is free in most places and it is actully about $75 cheaper than the store.
Another great feature is that the canopy can detach from the back of the stoller and you can tilt it toward the front if the sun in low and in your children's faces. Kind of like an infant car seat does. I think that alone is worth it.
I am interested to hear what you end up with.
Good Luck.

Make sure you get one that has a front wheel that swivels, it makes it much easier to manuver around. Most have a way to lock the front wheel if you want to. I bought mine off of E-Bay and found someone local so there was no shipping charge. Have Fun!
We have a jogging stroller (single one) and My biggest complaint is that the front wheel doesn't turn... We literally have to pick up the front to turn a corner or make small direction adjustments.
We used to live near lake MI and took the stroller out onto the beach having no problems with the sand. So the big wheels will handle a dirt road great... :-)
(Get one with a hand break on the handle)Won't pull you down the hills then.
We have the BOB Revolution and LOVE it. It's a bit pricey, especially for the double, but we think it's worth it. We even use it for trips to the mall, etc., and we've definitely taken it "off roading". Hope this helps! :)
Hi K.,
I also have two little ones and bought a double jogger last spring. I love mine. Unfortunately, I am not a runner but I think this one would be great for running. The front wheel can be free moving or be locked in place (for running). The seats are comfortable for my girls and it has a great sun visor. There's lots of storage underneath and a canvas holder for drinks, cell phone, etc.
This one looks like mine.

I bought mine on ebay - they are kind of pricey. It was new and I think it was $240 with shipping. Maybe you can find a better deal if you shop around.
Good luck in your search.

I have a phil and teds stroller they have a website. It is excellent, I love it for my 14 month old and 3 month old. it takes a combined weight of 40kg about 80 plus lb. It is easy to handle and as it is a double decker not as wide as the conventional double stroller. Highly, highly recomend it. I have even used it with four year old and one year old before baby came, still loved it even with extra weight of heavy four year old. really can't say enough good things about it.
I LOVE my Chariot stroller! It is like a transformer/play pen on wheels. I got mine at The Outpost down town Holland. It is absolutely the best thing we have gotten for our baby.
I have a Baby Jogger (a single, not a double). They are pricey but they are incredible. To us, it was worth every penny. Is big but very light and manageable. I got mine from a Runnign Fit store in Novi (near 12 Oaks) and they were great giving advice about it. I purchased the 20 inch wheel as per their advice. It takes turns great and it is wonderful off road. We have taken it on the beach and everywhere you can imagine. Good luck.
I personally don't have one, but I did pick one up from Costco for my brother/sister-in-law that they love. The last time I was in there they had it...I just can't think of the brand name. If you have a Costco membership you can go in and check it out, it's the only one there.
