I love mine and have used it regularly for more than 5 years now and still have my film version as well. It's a great camera and very easy to use.
Hi this is the camera that I have wanted for a couple of years. I might be purchasing it soon. Does anyone have any imput. Thanks.

Go and get a copy of consumers digest. I may also go online and see what you can find in terms of review. I think cannon in general has a good reputation.
Go for it! It is a fantastic camera. I have had mine for about 4 years and couldn't be happier.
Yes, I have a Canon Rebel XT DSLR. I bought it when my daughter was two months old (in 2006) because my old digital camera was too slow to capture all those cute baby faces. I've had the film version of this camera since I was a teen. The Canon lenses are interchangeable between the film and digital Canon Rebels, but I've never gone back to the film camera. I've been very happy with the camera. It's easy to use and it takes great photos. I think you'd be very happy with it. Plus, I think it's a lot less expensive now then when I bought it four years ago!
I also have been wanting one for years and am thinking about finally making the purchase. I had a Rebel film camera and loved it. My brother has a Rebel digital and loves it.
I have a few Canon cameras, one of them being the Canon Rebel T1i and I LOVE it! It's not too difficult to use, good starter camera. I'm not big on reading directions so I went to Youtube and watched a couple tutorial videos that helped quite a bit. I'm very happy with the quality of photos it takes and I've received several compliments too! So far, I've only used the 18-55mm image stabilized zoom lens and I've taken really nice pictures with it. I also got the 55-250mm telephoto zoom lens but haven't used it yet. Overall, I give it a definite thumbs up :)
I just bought the Canon Rebel XS. PERFECT for what I wanted! Great quality, fun features, but not too complicated.
LOVE it.. I have had two.. they are great for getting the right picture. They are a lot cheaper now then they were when I bought mine. I have no regrets.
I have several Canon cameras (love them), including the rebel. My rebel is an older model about 2 years old. I feel I don't get the most sharp image out of it, but my daughter just bought a rebel and she is loving it. It is a good starter camera. What do you plan on using it for? It is good to have an idea before you purchase, because you will need the right lens. My daughter purchased hers for a trip to Costa Rica and loved it, but didn't love the lens choice for close up pics with friends. She is planning to purchase something a little wider for candids with friends.
My husband loves his and has upgraded to the newest version and passed on the first to our daughter. He has several different lenses as well. I like it because although I don't know how to use all the bells and whistles like he and our daughter, it is easy for me to just pick up and take a quick pic as well.
I'd say it would be a good purchase.
I have the Canon Rebel XS and LOVE IT!!! It's affordable and takes great pictures. I use it every chance I get!!
We had the first one and loved it. We have since upgraded and have a couple newer models for birding (a couple of these were refurbishes ones that had had a defect and were factory repaired, knocking a big chunk off the price). The rebel takes great shots and will work well for every day use. We really abused ours with weather, etc and it used it a ton and it lasted several years before the shutter started giving out (50,000 plus pictures at least) . I think the newer ones are even better. The lenses really make a difference depending on what you are mainly taking pictures of, especially if you are using a high mm and then cropping a lot on the computer before printing. After owning a few film cameras the digital one was really nice and the pictures amazing. Have fun with your new camera!
I don't have one I had a cannon because when my kodak that I had for 7 years got dropped and broke everyone swore by cannon. My cannon didn't even last a year it just stopped working for no reason. Sure it took beautiful photos but it didn't last. I have a nikon now and love it although its only a point and shoot I will get a better one when tax time rolls around next year.
