Ana Caban Pilates videos put my back in place. The beginning mat workout is a great place to start, it even has a 12 minute energy boost workout that I love.
Hi all, I just had my last baby in June, and i seemed to be looking fairly good. Then i started eating more and more, and i have been so worn out, that i dread getting on my treadmill. Well, needless to say, i have put back on about 10 lbs, and am feeling lazier than ever. My waist is not there, and my belly is pretty fatty. I am still nursing my baby, so no extreme dieting for me. But I know I have to do something. I saw the Aero Pilates Performer with Cardio Rebounder 2 DVDs & Mat on QVC last night, and it is on easy pay ($74) for 4 months instead of $300 up front, and was wondering if anyone had tried this machine? I am considering trying it. If not, do you have a machine and/or weight loss plan that works great for you? thanks in advance!

Hi C.
I am a fitness professional with my own in-home business and I have an 1100 sq ft studio in my home where I train my clients. After over 20 years in the fitness industry I carefully hand picked the cardio and strength training equipment which I have and I am VERY impressed with the Octane 37e which I purchased through Healthstyles right here at the outlets in Castle Rock. Here's an added bonus if you are intersted, if you talk to Bill and tell him I sent you over, he will give you a discount for mentioning my name. The machine is rather pricey but worth every penny. It is about $3100 plus tx delivery and set up, but my clients have bought one and had it delivered through the special 'C.' discount which Bill has given them for around $2700. An amazing machine which burns calories faster than you can imagine and is easy and fun to use. Check it out. If you wish to contact me with any further questions, you can do so through my website at www.myfridayfitness.com or check out my ad in the Douglas County Living magazine and, starting in a week or so, the CCN local paper. Good luck and let me know if I can help you further.

I get too bored on machines unless I'm watching tv :) but this site has great motivational ideas and advice, and if you want to get the gear the code fitchick20 gets you 20% off on anything!

The treadmill - it was my body saviour after 2 kids!!!
Hi C.,
I have a pilates performer and it is a pain in the rear to even get out because it is so big! I bought mine on qvc too, and I know that I didn't think it would be as cumbersome as it ended up being, probably because they have that huge studio to show it in so it doesn't look like it takes up much room at all. And, since I liked doing pilates, I didn't really pay all that much attention to the actual dimensions of the thing, I just figured I could get more out of my workouts. Beyond the pains of getting the thing out and set up, I do like working out with it, but it doesn't happen near as often as I thought it would. Mainly because I don't have a place just to leave it accessable enough for me to use it daily. It does not fit under my bed - maybe it would if I put my bed on those riser things you can get, but just having the bed on a standard bed frame it's a no go. I don't have extra space for the thing in my closets, so it ends up relegated to the basement, and it is too heavy for me to lug up and down the stairs by myself. If I had someplace in the house to be able to leave it set up, that was also accessable to the dvd player to be able to use the dvds that came with it, I would probably use it a lot more often...but right now it is a $300 dust collector. I do like the Total Gym, however (and I'm pretty sure that in addition to having their own website, QVC used to carry those as well). I'm not sure of the current dimensions of their unit, but the one I have from a few years ago is slimmer and lighter than the performer is, so it gets used more often. There was an exercise book and dvd that came with it and I feel that I get a pretty good workout using that machine. It is easy to transition from one exercise to the next and it has different levels you can set it up on so you can get more or less resistance. Plus, the dimensions being smaller makes it easier for me to store someplace where I am more likely to actually use it! (not that it gets as much use as it should - sigh - lol) I've also seen a lot of ads lately for the Malibu Pilates chair - it looks cool, but that also has an almost $300 price tag, so I think I would want to see if anyone else had that before shelling out for it (they offer a payment plan, and it is $14.95 or something for the first 30 days to see if you like it - they have a website if you want to check into that malibupilates.com). Good luck in your decision! Let us know what you find!
The one thing that helps me is to not eat after 6 pm. I've been doing this since july( and i have done this it before, it works)and have lost 20 lbs. Then at i started to work out again in sept. About 30 min. 3 to 5 times a week, like cardo, abs, legs, arms, and walking a little( i would walk more but i have a very bad knee). This is simple, i am a stay-at-home-mom and as we all know is a full time job!i cook dinner early i know but it works for my family as well. We are all busy!
Good luck,
martha
walking works great for me
I don't have a machine, but there is two things that I have done that have really, really helped me. First of all, I got a baby jogger and use it to go for jogs with my baby. She loves it because she gets to be outside, and I love it because I get some workouts in and I get to be outside. Also, I have Turbo Jam (yes the one you see on T.V.) and I love it. It really works, and my baby likes to sit in her bouncy chair and watch me do silly looking things. I think I payed a total of $70 for it (two payments if I remember correctly).
Good Luck!
Hi, C.,
I don't know if you've heard of StrollerFit or not, but they offer three different workouts for new & expectant moms. The best part? You can BRING THE KIDS WITH YOU!! You get to interact with them and they interact with other kids, too. The Restore the Core class is a great way to lose inches off you hips, waist & thighs, plus, it helps tone up those abs. If you're interested in finding classes in your area, I encourage you to visit: www.strollerfit.com. They also have a series of DVDs that you can buy online at mommymuscle.com
Good Luck!

I used to be a 10-12 at my best...then I trained for a tri, and got down to a size 6-ish.
I signed up for a sprint distance, put in the time at the gym, and everything melted away!
I have a nordic track elliptical trainer & I love it. It was expensive but it has been worth every penny. I joined LA Weight Loss almost 2 years ago & lost 76 pounds so I needed a way to stay in shape. I had purchased elliptical trainers in the past (less expensive ones) and I have found that you get what you pay for (I think that's how it is with pretty much everything). My favorite thing about an elliptical is that the workout is very low impact; I have never felt sore after using one even when I haven't been in the best shape. I always feel full of energy & I work full time, sell Avon & I have 2 little girls. I know my energy level is up simply from working out. You mentioned that you have some belly fat; I know it doesn't seem like an elliptical would work your abs but it really does. Best of luck to you!
