Does Anybody Buy Converse Shoes for Their Boys????

We've always bought Naturino canvas shoes for our boys(and are very happy with them), but Amazon has not had any on sale for the last 2 months(paying over $100 for a pair is not an option). So I am looking at Converse(they just came out with velcro hitops that look very cute). Does anybody buy converse for their boys? Are they flexable, comfy, do they hold up to boy's running, climbing, jumping? Do they run true to size? I was not able to find any reviews online. Thanks in advance:)

What can I do next?

I bought my son a pair of low top converse and although he loves the look, he says they're not very comfortable. The top rubs the tops of his toes and the sole isn't very flexible.

I know that Famous Footwear here carries them and quite a few. How old are your boys you didnt say. Some little boys wear them here but more wear Vans. I know they have very little if any arch support so they are not the best for running but I know yrs ago lots of boys wore them for basketball. Famous Footwear often has sales and if you register with them on line you get notice in advance and sometimes add'l coupons.. They also offer to ship any shoes to your house they have in the store if they don't have the size you need free. Hope this helps.

My daughter has a pair and she likes them, they are not as comfy as others but they hold well and she wears them a lot. You can buy them at Target and I think in Pay less too.
I don't know too much about what is "in" but I have see many kids with does so I guess they are "in", lol.

We have bought 3 pairs of the lace up hitops for our girl (age 4) and just bought our 2 yr old boy a pair of the velcro lowtop. I love them. I don't know how long they would last with an older boy doing boy things but so far our girl outgrows them before she outwears them. Yes the are very flexible and comfortable, I find they run a little big. I am very happy with them and my son has a fat little foot and most other "tennis" shoes are uncomfortable or give him blisters.

Traditional Converse run a full size larger than most other sneakers. (Not sure about the Target version) Chuck Taylor's have little support, but are pretty wide - which was a benefit for my kids. Jack Purcell Converse (Smileys) have a bit more cush and support. Converse don't have the support that many European shoes have (like Naturinos) but they are really cute and have always lasted until outgrown! Converse are always cool in my book :)

My 10-year old had a pair of Converse when he was younger but he wouldn't wear them because they were not comfortable. My suggestion would be that if you are going to buy them, go ahead and buy an arch support to put in the shoes at the time of purchase.

My son has worn converse. They hold up pretty well, BUT they have hardly any insole. There is no arch support or anything. He didn't seem bothered by this, but I just would rather a shoe with a bit more support under his very active feet.

That said... they are really cute and are available at target.

They run almost a full size big (well long mostly, not wide) so take him in and have him try them on.

I buy my 4yr old son VANS because they are wide and comfy for his feet. I had tried on a pair of converse in his size and he said that they hurt his feet as in being too tight... i tried on the next size and they were a little too big.. i always buy him VANS, DC shoes or Etnies because they have 2 velcro straps which makes it easier on him to put on his shoes by himself since he can't tie his shoes yet, and he loves them!!

I dont know about little boys shoes but my husband and little sister both wear converse. in fact my sis refuses to wear anything else. she buys the same size she does in any other brand. dont buy them from the converse store though. if you can find their sizes there buy them at target because they are cheaper and go on sale often

Our son's first pair of actual shoes were a pair of lace up Converse high tops and he absolutely loved wearing shoes like mommy and daddy's. They don't have much arch support (I've noticed this in my own pair as well) but they are flexible. I haven't noticed them running large but then we've always gotten the Converse All Stars, NOT the One Stars you can get from Target. The ones they sell at Target are a completely different line and don't hold up nearly as well (my husband had a pair that fell apart almost immediately). One complaint is that we live in Florida and lately my son has been wanting his sandels, I'm guessing because he doesn't like having his feet confined in a stuffy hot shoe, I don't blame him. So far he's outgrown them before they've worn out. (They DO look dirty, but that's how you know they're cool. ;) )
