Doing it right now...and school ends late...starts late here...So, I have time....I also have a ton to do.
My OCD'S are shining through big time right now:)
I swear I am nesting! Its as bad as when I was pregnant. I have been going crazy getting the house organized and spotless before my kid starts school. I cleaned out every closet in the house yesterday! Am I the only one that does this?

You are not alone! Keep up the good work! Go Molly!
Nope, I'm in the process of doing it right now too!!
YES! I never had the "nesting" thing when pregnant, but before school it kicks in like crazy! I want to cook dinners and get all of my crock-pot recipes in order, everything organized and ready for lunch making, etc. School-starting/fall of the year is the only time I ever truly feel "domestic." I get a burst after Christmas and like to get everything cleaned up and organized in the new year, but something about school starting fires up the domestic side of me!
Yes! My son is 1, but I am a teacher and I feel like the summer is the only time I can get closets cleaned, floors waxed, carpets shampooed, etc. Does it really matter?! It does if you feel like you have a slight case of OCD (like me!) :) Happy cleaning!
I do this too. But maybe for very different reasons. Because we homeschool and my daycare kiddos are expected to participate in some kind of formal learning through the year too, I go through a period of planning and preparation. Cleaning makes me feel more ready for whatever life has in store.
I start 2wks before school starts - I try to just focus on summer as long as possible!!!
Yes I DO, every single year, and the kicker: my kids aren't even IN school yet! I think my mom did that with me EVERY YEAR starting in kindergarten and now it's just a subconscious thing. Around the time school sales start up, I start going through closets checking for clothes that don't fit, organizing everything from the boys' rooms, playroom, my desk, my filing system, even my pantry, no lie. It's just a "thing". Kind of a signal.....I'll be an expert by this time next year when my oldest starts kindergarten, lol.
At this moment in my dining room is a box too heavy for me to lift with clothes my youngest has outgrown, baby books, cradle and crib bedding, baby blankets and toys, etc that needs to be donated...stuff I boxed up this past week.
And as for pregnancy nesting: um, hmmm.....YES...kinda psycho. I had car seats installed (and checked at the firestation to make sure they were done right), all clothes were washed, hung, and folded, the diapers and wipes were sitting on the shelf on the change table, the cradle was handmade and carved/woodburned with what I wanted on the foot and headboards, the diaperbag was packed and in the car, my hospital bag was packed and in the car, all by the day my water broke (which was 6 weeks early). For my 2nd baby: all the same stuff, plus cleaning things out and organizing his room and putting everything in his armoir, I included my "special CD" and CD player in the hospital bag, AND I made THREE MONTHS worth of dinners (NO LIE) and had them all arranged, labled, and stored in my deep freezer ready to go (and he was induced 3 weeks early). Am I normally a clean freak or organizational freak, nooooooo, I don't think so. But "big events" get my nesting juices flowing!
I do that but I wouldn't call it nesting. Actually I never understood why people call nesting nesting. I mean you know you are about to have a kid, you know they house is not going to be cleaned for a while, so you clean it spotless. You know your schedule is going to change back and you won't be able to add clean to the schedule for a while so you clean the heck out of the house before school starts.
I also do this before I go on vacation because I just don't like to come home to a dirty house,
Another reason I do it before school is to find those few school supplies that actually made it through the year so they can be reused. Ya know, the rulers and such...
Yep and our daughter is in College, but home for the summer!.. She will leave in 2 weeks..
I am even getting ready to PAINT her room! She will not be here again till Christmas!!!
It is funny I have always nested right before her school years start!
