My husband and I are getting divorced. I do not even know where to begin with the whole process. I need the BEST divorce lawyer in the area to handle my case. My husband has always handled the financial aspect of our marriage and I am afraid he could easily "pull the wool over my eyes". He told me he wants primary custody of the children, even though we works alot and wouldn't be able to care for them as well as I can. A., Do you have an attorney yet? Our attorney who handled our adoption was the best in Pinellas County. His name is Jim Runyon, ###-###-#### and another attorney is Bruce Kaufman, ###-###-####. They are both good attorneys and Christians to boot :-)
Do not let your husband get primary or physical custody. Most men want that so that their child support is alot lower. And if you go and have a consultation with alot of the "good" lawyers in town, it is harder for your husband to find one because they already talked to you...
Normally I am all about being fair in a divorce, but after seeing a dear friend of mine go through a really nasty break up...I am just so made at how low some men can get without any regard to the welfare of their children. They just want to "hurt" their estranged wife.
They are pricey ($10,000 retainer) but Solomon Tropp group off Kennedy in Tampa is the best. Another good one is Eileen Griffin in Brandon. avoid Mark Neumeir....hope this helps
