As Jo said, if they're any good they won't be inexpensive. You should probably ask any local divorced friends who they used and if they would recommend their lawyer.
does anyone know a good and inexpensive divorce lawyer ?

No idea what Jim's comment means.
I agree with Jo W. - the point is to get someone where you will get your money's worth. If you have an attorney in another field, ask for a referral. Ask your friends for referrals - the more people you have working for you in your own area, the better. If you and your spouse are speaking and willing to cooperate, then mediation is always cheaper than each having their own lawyer. But if you need protection for your assets, then have your own attorney. If there are children involved, you might need more services. Legal Aid is cheaper but they are usually overloaded and don't necessarily specialize in one thing. You can always inquire though. And if your spouse has all of the assets and you have little in your name, that doesn't mean you aren't entitled to your share - and you can demand enough to cover your legal expenses. Most attorneys will meet with you for an hour for free or for a reasonable fee just to assess your needs and give you an estimate.
Don't know your area but there is no such thing as an inexpensive good lawyer! If they are any good their fee reflects it!
great 3rd question.............. in 4 years
If there's not a lot of $$ to loose, you can do it yourself? If the two of you are in agreement to split 50/50, you can do it yourself. If not and you can't afford and attorney, contact legal aid for some advice. If you are a senior, there may be some free legal assistance available to you and your local senior center.
Sorry for your problems.
