Diaper Leaking at Night

I just upgraded our 13 month daughter from Pampers size 3 to size 4 diapers to see if it would help with her leaking issue. She wakes up every morning with her onesie soaked with pee. I already upgraded her diaper size and it did not resolve the issue. Any other ideas out there? She drinks 8 ounces of milk before bed and sleeps thru the night... which I believe is normal for her age.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the advice. I found Huggies Overnight Diapers and they work great. No more leaks.

I had the same problem!! Right before bed I put my daughter in "Nighttime" diapers, I think their by Pampers, their double absorbancy and do the trick. You can also try to cut down on the milk before bed. My daughter is 18 mos and I give her 4oz of milk before bed and she does fine. Maybe try 6oz at first.

We had the same problem for the longest-and decided to double diaper-problem solved. One regular diaper secured losely with a pull up diaper over on top of that one.

This is something I heard when I was little from my mom and it's something that I believe. She said that when a baby wakes up peed it's because they are cold during the night. I have expierenced that with my 2 year old son. When he wakes up all wet I make sure the next night that he is wrapped/dressed up warmly the next night. Usually this solves my problem. Hope it helps.

You can add a maxi pad to your child's diaper. I know it sounds crazy. But it really works. The pad will absorb the extra amount of pee. You can also try to put another diaper on top, but put this one one backwards. My little boy was a very heavy wetter when he was younger.

I would definitely recommend the Huggies Overnites. They make a big difference. However, you may find that you still have the problem until your daughter no longer gets that night time bottle. My daughter was even soaking through the Overnites & then when she was about 15 months we stopped that bedtime bottle. She rarely soaks through her Overnite diaper now.

Hi there M., i would suggest maybe changing the diaper brand, i have a 9 month old son, and when i tried huggies and pampers they would always leak, if you go to walmart they carry a brand called parents choice, to be honest i love these more than any other diapers. They fit the babies body shapes a lot better than the other diapers, and they don't leak as much. Anyways good luck with this and hopefully i was able to help you out.

I always have leaking issues with Pampers. I will only use Huggies Supreme. I have learned my lesson! They do sell doublers for nighttime. They look like a maxi pad that goes in the diaper at night to help with heavy wetters. You need extra room for them so the 4's will probably work well. Also, I have noticed that when my children start leaking, it is usually time to jump up a size in diapers.

have you tried overnight diapers? they are more absorbent. i use them just at nights. you can also start to incorporate brushing teeth and sitting on the toilet as part of your night time rituals. she may not actually go, but is a good habit to start.

but definitely get those teeth cleansed before bed!

Sounds very familiar except I have a 7 month old who I now put on the size 4 pampers (she isn't a chubby one either). They are better than the other brands I tried but still didn't solve the problem. I couldn't find overnights that were not huge. I got a little tired of the early wake ups and got creative (or crazy). I found some left over size 1 diapers in her closet and cut off the tabs. I stuck that diaper in the size 4. It worked. We have only had 2 wet wakeups in the past month, and it makes good use of the old diapers. The nice thing is the old diapers are generics, so not as expensive as 2 pairs of pampers. Good luck.

I had the same problem, I use to give my son the glass of milk at quite time right before bed, In my situation that was the problem...for the last couple of nights I spaced out the time of the glass of milk and actual bed time...about a 1/2 hour maybe alittle longer if you can...
