Delta Sink Stains

Hi Ladies,

We built our home 12 years ago and we have Delta faucets throughout our house. I only have one drain plug (the silver part at the bottom of the sink) that almost looks like it is rusted - all the others are fine. Of course, this is the bathroom on the main floor that everyone uses, even guests. All my other sinks are fine. Has anyone ever had this happen and how do I get it back to normal (shiny silver). Thanks!

If it is rust then I think you need a new stopper. But if it is dirt, try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on it. Those always get out our toughest sink stains.

Good Luck!

You buy a new stopper assembly at lowes or Home Depot.

New stopper set up from Lowe's. We were going to do this for your exact reason even (main bathroom, 12 year old house, Delta). The guy at Lowe's helped us find the right fit and there was a sealant you needed too. I think it was under $40 for the equipment. Good luck.

if i'm remembering correctly, vinager, aluminum foil and maybe bakin soda. you can google how to clean silver w/vinegar and aluminum foil. i would try vinegar for a hour and then throw some baking soda on it and scrub it. it that doesn't work, my neighbor swears by peroxide. i swear by vinegar...lol. i did try peroxide on my countertop that had some stains for months, i tried everything!! poured peroxide on it, left it or about an hour, actually i forgot about it and when i went back, it was gone. i literally tried straight bleach on those stains too. if none of those work, just buy a new ring.
