Hi!I've started taking positive mood supplement from good days. Its creative by Dr.Fisher and Lucinda Bassett. You can call this number for details 1-800-511-7387 its part of a anxiety and depression program but the supplements help.
I have an almost 2 yr old and a 4 yr old. I am so exhausted all the time, even if I get a full 8hrs sleep. I do stay busy, but it does not matter if I slow down or not-I'm always tired! I am a pretty motivated person, I am not overweight, and I try to workout about 4 days a week. I go to my doctor every year for a full blood workup. I have another appointment in a couple of weeks. Last time everything was normal, except my thyroid was a little low. I ordered some supplements online and they do not seem to make a difference in how I feel-Thyroid Energy and Kelp.
I do have anxiety that is magnified when my kids are driving me crazy. I would love to have that calm feeling more often,Like when you have a glass of wine, but I would rather not take prescriptions medications because of the side effects. I am willing to give something a try if there are very low side effects. Does anyone know of any natural supplement that works for anxiety?

C.,
Ask for God's peace, dear-one. Cast all your care upon Him for He cares for and loves you as no one can. I know how you feel from personal experience, and this works for me.
I'm praying for you, C..
Have your doctor run a more thorough, complete thyroid panel--insist. Some thyroid problems aren't diagnosed by the standard test. Does your husband help? Mine isn't a big help but he will take our daughter out visiting for an afternoon so I can have some "me" time.
Go to the store (Target or Wal-Mart) and purchase some Emergen-C. They are packets of vitamin supplements that you pour in water. It makes a fizzy drink. You can drink up to 3 a day. They are loaded with B vitamins and other vitamins and minerals for energy. They work wonders and make you feel so much better!
C.,
You may need more than 8 hrs of sleep. After my second son was born I realized I needed 9 and I make sure I get it. It does wonders.
Also, the anxiety can be avoided with a good B Complex supplement. B vitamins are water soluble so don't worry about getting too much. If you are already taking them, you might bump up the dose for a couple of months.
There are also some excellent products out there that target the adrenal glands. This is where I see the biggest, fastest relief from exhaustion. You nay need to go to a Naturopath or Chiropractor to get them but they are quickly becoming a high selling item because of the constant stress we are all under.
And finally, look at your house. Is it near any big power lines? Do you have televisions on in every room, electronics everywhere? Look at the electromagnetic stres you could have. good luck m
C.,
First, go ahead and have your Dr. do a complete thyroid profile like several have recomended. Synthroid had been around and is safe (safer than some of the "natural" methods like "Niacin" that caused me more problems) I did take it through both of my pregnancy and even had to increase it some during my first) Then.... There is a new company enlyten.com\adillon that has a patent pending on dual layer strips. They did a pre launch on Jan 9 this year. They have an energy strip that is 0 fat, 0 calories, 0 sugar, and it tastes like an awesome mint!!! It gives you not a rush of energy, but an overall I can make it through the next few hours (which I often was more concerned about than the day) they are safe, you can use 1-3 at a time and through out the whole day. They also have a Melatonin one that has been my favorite. I would fall asleep pretty easy, then I would wake up worrying about what I did not get done. If I take one right before bed, I feel like I have had a glass of wine relaxed and can fall asleep easier, but I don't go into such a deep sleep I can't wake up if my kids need me (I am a single mom of 2 also helping my niece with a 11mnth old). If you well send me your mailing address, I will be glad to send you a sample of both. Also go on my website..enlyten.com\adillon and check it out. THey have electrolytes which would be great for before/after your work outs so you don't get as fatigued and/or muscle cramps/soreness and Antioxident to keep your immune system up. (My son uses the Mealtonin and my daughter the electrolytes for cheer/volleyball safe!!! Also the energy drinks agravated my anxiety. NOT THE ENERGY STRIPS!!
Get your Thyroid checked. If it is your thyroid then you will need a harmone prescription. There are very little side effects once you get your dose correct and you will feel soooo much better.
Good luck.
Hi C.,
After the birth of my son, I was extremely exhausted all day. I saw an ad online for a healthy energy drink and decided to try it. It isn't like the other energy drinks on the market that spike your energy and then you crash down. It is basically a vitamin supplement. I knew it helped me but I didn't realize how much until we went on a trip a few weeks ago and I forgot to take it with me. Both days we were gone I hit a wall about 3 pm.
If your problem is from a thyroid issue, I don't know if it will totally fix the problem, but it might be worth a try. They have a free trial. They have two different sites you can look at. www.frs.com and www.healthyenergy.com
Good luck!
Just wanted to tell ya that you are not alone! I feel the same way, tired all the time! My hubby even made the comment recently that if I got more than 8 hours sleep, I'd still say I was tired when I got up. I have a five year old and three year old boys and am a SAHM. If you find the cure, please let me know! I agree with the glass of wine thing, I'd love to feel that way too!

Talk to your doctor about taking Synthroid. I also am hyper-thyroid and have been for a long time. I took Synthroid during my pregnancy and have had no side effects and neither did my duaghter. Good luck

I have found that drinking coffee will make me less energetic than I would be otherwise. Caffeine will strip the iron from your blood and cause your energy to drop. If you are already borderline anemic, this could be a problem. Of course, I'm not sure if this is the case with you, but you may have your doctor check your iron levels.

Try Magnesium - its what your muscles use as energy. Akin's sells an efforvescent powder called "Natural Calm - the anti-stress drink". Not cheap, but it really does the trick.
And if you havent already, try cutting all caffeine and MSG out of your diet (google MSG to find out why), and really ramping up fresh fruits and veg. Hope this helps :}
I suggest getting on a natural hormone balancing cream that will help your thyroid. Prolief is the one that I use sold by Arbonne. They also have a great energy fizzy tablet that makes a drink(lemon or pomegranate) has B12 and green tea. Another thing that helps me as well is the superfood hybrid vitamins for women. Ck out web at www.successfromtheheart.myarbonne.com
click on shop online to see products. You do get a 45 day mb guarantee as well.
I have a very similar problem & I'm pretty sure it is mostly my thyroid. I take medicine for it, but am not very happy with the way I'm being treated. I take Synthroid & have not had much relief from my symptoms though my blood tests have come back in the "normal" range. My mom has the same problem & recently started taking Armour which is actual thyroid hormone from pigs. I started taking Super B-Complex & Fish Oil to help with the energy & depression/slow thinking just a few weeks ago. It seems to help a little, but so far not a lot. I'm gonna give it a little time & then go see an endocrinologist if I don't feel drastically better. I would suggest taking the B-Complex & Fish Oil & talking to your doctor about your problems when you get your blood test. If he doesn't seem flexible in working with you on it, then go to an endocrinologist. I'm glad to hear there are more people out there with similar problems.
I have a family full of thyroid dysfunction. If your thyroid is not working correctly, it can cause all kinds of physical and mental symptoms, including low energy, anxiety and depression. When my mother's thyroid was low, she would sleep all night and all day if she could, and still feel tired. I have never heard of any natural remedy that is effective for a thyroid problem...if there was, we would have used it! Your anxiety could very well be from a low-functioning thyroid. The replacement hormones for thyroid are very safe, and I'm not aware of side effects once your dose is regulated. There is a great book out there called "The Thyroid Sourcebook for Women." I highly recommend you check it out. It's easy to read and full of important info. I am also not a medicine taker, but the thyroid is a master gland that controls most of your body functions in some way or another. I think you will feel so much better if you can get it regulated. Good luck.
Hi C.,
I wonder if you have any time for yourself-I don't mean working out or driving to work b/c you are focused on other things.
I mean just an hour/week for YOU-it doesn't sound as though you could get more than that.
I am a SAHM to a VERY energetic/bright-demanding 3 yr old (on Friday) and I was SO worn out all the time.
That changed when I put her in MDO 2 times/week.
Now that i have some time for ME with no child(ren) I feel much better.
I hope this helps! I also hope you feel better soon.
:-) C.
Sounds like all you need is quality time for yourself Chastity, You have everything down to a routine with family and career, but you neglect the most important person in that equation--yourself!
Take the kids to grandma's for a weekend and you and your husband check into a hotel; get away from the routine. Incorporate this policy into your lives.
For the 'me' time, schedule a day at a spa, or luncheon with a friend, ditto for the husband. It does wonders for the energy and anxiety. And the kids will love you for the chance to venture out on their own! It helps them establish a sense of independence.
The low energy definitely sounds like a low-thyroid issue. I think acupuncture might be able to help. Also, look into biofeedback or even hypnosis as possible ways to stimulate proper thyroid function.
The anxiety: I dealt with massive anxiety issues for years, and the worst thing I tried was going the pharmaceutical route. Turns out it's also unnecessary. I learned a lot on my journey that I'm happy to share with you.
Here's what you need to do:
Keep all sugar, white grains, alcohol, caffeine, etc. to an absolute minimum. Even though you feel tired, don't use coffee (or any other supplement intended to give you natural energy; the effects on you will be the same). If you're a heavy caffeine user, stop immediately. Some people who have anxiety problems get complete relief from this, alone. I'm suspecting that in your case, this might be it: being so fatigued, maybe you've been leaning on coffee to help you get through the day. But it's not going to help a thyroid problem, as you've noticed.
This might be all it takes. Don't minimize, in your mind, the importance of kicking the simple-carbs habit. Studies show that sufferers of anxiety disorder tend to have extremely high simple-carb diets.
Even though this might solve your problem, it might take a little while, because your sympathetic immune system has gotten used to this particular status quo. So, to help calm things down, take high doses of vitamin B complex (earlier in the day is better, because, while calming, it can give you a form of energy and keep you up at night). Drink chamomile tea, but prepare it medicinally: steep in boiling water, covered, for 10 minutes. (Only do this for a short time, because extended use of chamomile can cause hay fever.) Use lavender at night (it can make you drowsy). Also, try kava kava. The root (rhizome) form only; unscrupulus companies have been known to throw in the whole plant, and parts of the kava kava plant can cause liver damage with extended use. Kava kava is very calming. St. John's Wort might help, but can have the opposite effect in some people.
Also, try neurofeedback. See if there is a clinic in your area. Very safe, usually covered by insurance, and very few, mild side effects, if any.
Good luck.
L.
