You can get his Money Makeover book and read it. I think it would be great to go to one of his Peace University classes with your husband. I've personally never been, but I've only heard good things about it. You can star by going to his website and finding a location in your area and visit one of the introductory classes.

My husband and I are taken financial peace right now. Our church is offering it and by them ordering more than one kit it did not cost us as much as if we ordered it on line. Look in your cominity and see if a local church is offering it. Sign up and be committed to go for the next 13 weeks. U will get a lot out of it. We are already seeing some change.

Our church offered this program every Wednesday night at 6:30. We also have child care. Hopewell Baptist Church 75 Ridge Road, Canton GA 30115. It's a great program and really helps to go through it with other people. There is accountability as well as others that can relate to you and your situation. If Hopewell it to far I am sure that there are other churches in the area that have Dave's program.

I would highly recommend going to FPU! My husband and I went through the course a little over a year ago and it is so worth it and more. I'm D., and I am a member of mamasource. Before you spend the money on a program I would suggest you read over his material and see if it is a good fit. The information will work if you follow and implement what you learn.

You can also google: Suze Orman and David Bach. Go to your banks website and educate yourself a little more before you invest any money in any program. Just remember you will have to change the way you have looked at money up until this day. In order for things to change you have to change your relationship with money.

Rob Wilson wrote a book called "Unlocking Wealth" and put together a work book and video called Taking control which shows you how to eliminate debt and accumulate wealth. Rob was on WAOK for about 5 years and he made an impact on so many. The book and the principles will get you out of debt and help you accumulate wealth. I teach my sales force from Rob's philosophies and would be more than happy to explain how it works. Once you start this plan you will began to have more, tithe more, save more, invest more and save monthly toward retirement,emergency fund, college fund, vacation fund and much more.

I have been through the Financial Peace University. Its great!! If you live near the Easley, SC area the Salvation Army will be offering a free course in January. I'm not sure where else they are offering it. You can type in your area code on his website and find out though. Also, he will be in Atlanta September 18th for a one day course.

My husband and I have spent the last 2 years taking the FPU class then leading the FPU class - so, I am a BIG fan of FPU. What FPU offers is a direct lesson from Dave Ramsey, then the support of a small group and the other people taking the class. His website and radio or tv shows is going to educate on his philosophies and principles, but the class will give you a workbook and cds in addition to videos you watch to help you go through your finances. On his website you can put in your zipcode and find classes in your area. If you live in the Woodstock area, we will have an FPU class beginning again in January at His Hands Church. I can say that FPU completely changed our finances and our marriage (which was already good) but now we don't stress about finances! I haven't been through his programs but I do love him and his approach to getting out of debt. Just know before you start that it is no quick scam. It is common sense solutions to getting out of debt and you will more than likely have to change a few spending habits. You should also listen to him on the radio. You can go to his website and find out what station he's on in your area. He also has a tv show on the Fox Business network.

You do not need to pay someone, you can do all of this your self. If you are a member of a credit union or join a credit union, they will help you free. I'm not sure about banks.

I'm very familiar with Dave Ramsey's program and this past spring, I led a FPU class at my church. I suggest that you take the class. It is 13 weeks and it is much more in depth than what you would get on a website. The class runs 2 hours...the first half is watching a DVD of Dave teaching on a particular lesson and the second half is group discussion on the lesson. It was extremely encouraging to me to participate in the discussion. I got very close to my small group and it was so exciting to hear financial victories that were happening each week.

Dave is coming to the Atlanta area this month, if you are in this area. If you belong to a church, they usually will have information about he's program. If not, go onto he's website and you will find a ton of info. I have been working he's program for a year and still am not tired of the wealth of info. that he provides and the energy that he puts into helping others. He's been there (broke) and done that (millionaire). And he tells you how to do both!!! Also, he is on the radio daily at a.m. 640 at 3:00 p.m. (I believe). Powerful to say the least! It shows locations close to you where some of the classes are taught. You should definitely get the book "Total Money Makeover" as I find it has been most helpful. It takes you through the steps and is very informative.

he is going to be here in a few weeks... the wkd of sept 20th i think? im not sure where to get tickets, and i havent been before, but i've heard the wrkshp/conference is really helpful... he's on 640AM... i dont know what days/times.. as for sept 20th, im sure you can look up the info online.

also ive heard to read and re-read and follow all the steps to his book... i think it's the complete money makeover? (hope thats not the title to someone else's book! haha)

i just purchased his book, financial peace revisited (his updated edition) and his workbook for mymoneymakeover. This way, I can beneift form both and determinme which applies to our situation more appropriately. If you have a chance to attend one of his FPU seminars, I hear they ar absolutely fantastic. Our church did one several years ago and is considering holding it again. I will attend this time.
