My favorite is by dermalogica. It's there total eye care.
I have not found anything else that works nearly as well.
It is available at Ulta, and most salons.

I've had dark circles since I was a child. I keep hearing different products on the radio (hylexin and there's another one out there, but I forgot the name of it). Have anyone tried any products that actually work? I don't want to spend my money on it because it is expensive for a tube.

Hi W.,
I don't know if those products work or not but I have had the same problem, like you, my whole life.
Please let me know if you do try them.As I get older, it only gets worse. When I look in the mirror, the dark circles are all I see! The more I try to hide them the more I look like a circus clown with heavier makeup around the eyes( in my younger years we use to call them racoon eyes). I stopped using the creams & started using the mineral powder foundation which actually covers better. My skin is very clear,(not necessarily fair) but you can see every vein. Oh well...enough of my ranting.
All I really wanted to express was IF you try them, or hear from someone who has I would love to hear more. Like you I can't afford the expense for something that only KINDA helps.
Thanks again,
L.
You’re probably already aware that some of the common causes of dark circles under eyes are thinning skin; allergies and hay fever; genetics; fluid retention; lack of sleep; iron deficiency anemia and dehydration.
I to have dark circles and tried that product on the radio which did not work. Then I tried Benefit’s Depuffing Action Eye Gel to no avail and then Arbonne products, Vita-K, Aloette, and finally the $60.00 Teamine eye complex that is supposed to be the miracle cream after 30 days which also did not work even after 4 months of use.
So now I go for the home remedies like: drink enough water; sunscreen; rest if I can; cool teabags or cool cucumber slices over closed eyes and supplements. So far I’ve gotten best results after wearing the gel filled eye mask while resting my eyes for 15 minutes. This seems to calm and tighten the skin around my eyes which in turn diminishes the dark circles.

I sell a skincare line (requisite disclosure up front, Beauty Society (www.beautysociety.com) that I swear by for getting rid of all sorts of problems, including dark circles. I started selling it because it was the only thing that worked on my problem skin, so I became a consultant for the discount. I mostly sell by word of mouth because I'm not into the home party business.
Beauty Society carries a product, Immortal Eyes, that is the only thing I have seen to really work on dark circles and not cost an arm and a leg. Plus, all the products have a 12 month money back guarantee, so if it doesn't work for you (those with a genetic predisposition to dark circles mainly), you can easily return it, no questions asked. My SIL has dark circles, and I gave her a sample of the serum and she didn't even realize it had worked until people commented on how good she looked, and started asking her what makeup she used to get rid of her dark circles when she was wearing no makeup at all.
You can go to their site, and order it online, or find a consultant in your area if you want to try it out or get a sample.
I had the same problem and nothing worked. I spent thousands! One common cause of this problem is food allergies. Search online "food allergies dark circles" or "allergic shiners" and you will find tons of inormation. I know people hate to change their diets but it can work. The is a great makeup brand too called Jane Iredale. They have a powder foundation that gives awesome coverage. Check it out! Please look into the foods issue. Food allergies can cause many other problems in your body! Good luck.
I had dark circles under my eyes and couldn't get rid of them. It had been years of trying all kinds of things. I got sick one year and was in and out of the hospital. . . nothing was working. I was on every med known to man. I finally went the alternative route with herbs and oils. I started reflexology. I soon found out I had couple things going on. After I cured my stomach issues I was told I some things going on in my liver for a long time and my lymph system causing my dark circles. AHH haa! I had found the answer when I really wasn't looking for it. So if you are in to the alternative route let me know. I firm believer that an outward appearance is a sign of an inward problem.
Hi W.,
I use Artistry Replenishing Eye Creme and it's one of my favorite products. It has helped me with fine lines and puffiness.
Okay, here comes the shameless plug for my business, www.skerryshopping.com. :-)
Re dark circles, the Replenishing Eye Creme has been clinically tested. In 16 weeks your dark circles should reduce in appearance by 29%. Best of all it has a 100% satisfaction guarantee! Use it, try it, and if you don't find it's working for you use the prepaid return label and send it back - no questions asked. Pretty cool, huh?
In fact with local ladies here in Santa Cruz, I drop off Artistry Essentials Skin Care with the Eye Creme. I tell them to try it for 3 days - if they love it, they can buy it. If they don't, I just take it back.
Let me know how I can help,
R
I asked my dermatologist about this specifically and she told me that the only product that makes them totally go away is good makeup. She said that they are genetic and that, unfortunately, there's not much to be done except cover them up. Of course, lack of sleep, congestion, allergies, can all make these worse. My son has had them since he was born. They get worse in the spring or when he's sick but they're always there. Same w/ my sister.
I use "Benefit" brand makeup and it works really well for me. They're under eye concealer that I use is called Boing and I also use a pencil called Eye Bright. Eye bright is awesome! Totally helps those dark circles and 'brightens' your eyes.
Good luck! Hope you find something that helps and makes you feel beautiful!
take care,
J.
Here is my humble opinion. I had a similar problem when I was about 6-9 yrs old. I think it was because I did not eat well and my mom did not give us multivitamins. I was just too busy to eat, he he.
I know it also depends on the race; for instance, women from India have that problem too, some very severe, especially those who don't eat meat (I think). My boy had that problem when he was about 4-6 yrs old, because he was eating very poorly and needed some supplements. When I started him on aminoacids and other supplements, the problem corrected itself. My older daughter had that problem too (she was a vegetarian for several years and developed this problem which she hated because she could not fix it with concealer). I explained to her of her aminoacid deficiency and started taking some and the problem got almost resolved. So, this is why I have this theory; I could be wrong; but look at the malnourished people, they all seem to have this problem as well. Your problem could be due to another thing though.
Good luck and health.
W., If you are sure you don't have any heart problems, most likely it allergy. I've found good nutrition for my son, his circle are gone and he is felling good.Call me 916 944 46 75. A..
Hi W.,
As a person who works in the natural health world, I agree with the theory that there's usually something on the inside that needs addressed. The outside of the body is speaking to you, telling you something needs addressed. So before I spend money on covering up a 'message', I would definitely look into possibilities that you either need more nutrition, or allergies, or other things.

Check for allergies. Food and environmental, but mostly food.
Generally, dark circles can indicate and allergy or sensitivity that you are not aware of. It may be beneficial to check with a naturopath that can do testing. Some do muscle testing, others have machines.
My son has these. It gets much worse during pollen season. Our allergist says it is like a bruise. The congestion causes swelling, which causes the capillaries to leak a little bit of blood. My son often does not look/feel congested though, unless it is really bad. The dark circles come first.
Besides pollen/hay fever, it could be other environmental allergens like dust or pets. It could of course also be food(s). If you have any other allergy symptoms (chronic congestion or runny nose, or skin rashes), I would recommend being tested for allergies.
I have the same problem and just learned from my sons doctor that I probably have allergies that are causing the dark circles, allergies to he have always been runny nose, sneezing and watery eyes, I never thought they could be any thing else. So you may want to check that, my only other thing I do is the usual concealer under the eyes. Good Luck!
Hi W., I get dark circles under my eyes when I eat foods that I am allergic to. The best way to find out what you are allergic to is to cut out most wheat, dairy, sugar and then slowly add foods back in and notice when the dark circles return. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's have a lot of alternative foods that you can eat to still keep satisfied and not feel deprived. Good luck!
Have you ever had your Thyroid checked? Hypoactive thyroid was the issue for a friend of mine who had dark eye circles all her life too.
Just thought I'd throw it out there.
Hi W. - I would like to let you know about an all clean and green "skin nutrition" system with no unsafe chemicals or toxins, which believe it or not could be in many of the personal care products we are using. Glimpse Intuitive Skin Care (Made my XanGo) is available now and the serum and moisturizer (mangosteen-infused) can be used on entire face, including under eyes. I have spoken with people who said it got rid of under eye bags and it also takes care of skin discolorations. I would be happy to send you free samples if you contact me. Best of luck to you - I know you will find the solution you are looking for. V. the bene stick works great at BENEFIT. usually you can find it in the mall.
Hi W.,
You should go to Sephora and have one of the workers help you try a couple out. I often do that, then wear the one I think I like best for the rest of the day before buying it. That way you can see if you like it in the store and if you like it 5 hours later. They can also help you with particular problems if you really like a product but it runs or smears or disappears etc so that you can use it with great results.
No, I don't work for Sephora. I'm just a big believer in asking the "pros" for help. :)
Good luck!!

well, people with thin skin that runs in the family, show the dark under the eye more (but less likly to get 'Puffy")
Any injury from rubbing the eye (like allery) to applying liquid make-up) makes the small blood vessels leak and causes the dark color. ALso just the exposure to the sun during the summer / then the no tan to rest of face that comes with the weather changes ( that's why worse in winter). So being gentle and appling sunsreen/ using glasses helps....
Another dark eyed girl...
Hello,
My friend lives in Spokane, WA and she sometimes fwds me the mamasource.com newsletters from there. A couple weeks ago there was a very similar question posted. If you would like me to email you the link PM me your personal email address and I would be happy to. Here is the question the other woman asked:
Hi ladies.
So, I saw the question about the wrinkle eye cream, and I have another question regarding those eyes.
I have really dark circles under my eyes. I have had them since I was young and my mother actually took my to the doctor when I was three to see what was going on. Doctor said that I have bad allergies, which I do!! I still suffer from them.
So, the question! I don't wear a lot of make-up, but would like to know what "syrum" or something that I can put on my eyes to get the dark skin to lighten up? I don't want a concealer that I have to wear with foundation.....that's not my style. I just want a magic potion that gets rid of dark circles!! Ideas!?
Often dark circles under the eyes can be indicative of GERD or an underlying sinus problem that can go on for years. Check with your doctor or a naturpath before trying expensive creams to get rid of them. Often it is an internal problem that causes an exterior blemish. Good luck!
Hi W.,
I feel that these products work better for some people than others. I am a Mary Kay consultant and have a couple great eye products that my customers swear by. I have found that our eye revitalizer works best. I'd be more than happy to send you some samples so you don't have to invest in anything before you try it. And all Mary Kay products have 100% satisfaction guarantee! If you’re in the bay area I could even set up a free consultation so you could try them out. Have a great day!
