Crayola Washable Marker on Table

My daughter was coloring on our wood table and she got some Crayola washable marker on it. Usually I see it right away and it comes right up but I didn't see this spot and now it won't wipe away. Any tricks to get it out?

Thanks!

Hi M.

Believe it or not Lysol will take it out. I take tape off counter tops with it as well as permanent marker off of wood. I hope this helps and gl

I love the magic easers you can get from Mr. Clean or any brand, they take crayon out of anything, I have a stock pile of them.

I have to agree with the Magic Eraser suggestions. I have used it on marker....and it works. I even had an orange cool aid stain on a white counter top that I tried EVERYTHING on and the thing that finally worked was the eraser. Good Luck!

I like the Mr. Clean magic eraser, but I don't know if it's safe on wood.

My three yearold on has taken permant black marker and has marked on my door, kitchen floor, counter tops, even my fridge. I use Arm & Hammer Essentials, I use the cleaner and degreaser one. It works great on bringing up the permant marker so I'm sure it will work with what your daughter has used. With the marker my son has used, the cleaner will make the marker bubble and then you wipe it right off,and the marker has been on my floor and counters for weeks before I found something that worked. Arm & Hammeris the only cleaner I'll buy, becuase its the only thing I've found that works so good, and its cheaper. Wish you luck.

We had the same problem, only it was on a door. It's still there. I called crayola, and they said the "washable" thing only applied to marker on clothes and skin.

I love Sol-U-Mel! I've used it to get crayon and permanent market off of walls, tables, you name it! Plus it is safe for your family (I actually had a friend who's child drank a bottle of it and Poison Control said she would be fine!) I'd love to tell you about the store and good luck!

My 3 1/2 yr. old daughter took her crayola crayons to a stone slab table we have & I thought it was ruined forever. That was until I tried Mr. Clean Magic erasers. I SWEAR by them! Give it a try; you've got nothing to lose!

Good Luck!

Whenever we have had a mishap with permanent markers, one of the things we have tried to help remove the stain is to write over the same spot with the same permanent marker and then wipe up immediately while it is still wet. Don't know if it works the same with Crayola washables, but could be worth a try. If all else fails, look for an 800 number on the box and give the company a call. I am sure yours is not the first inquiry they have received of this nature.

I would try the magic eraser. Also scrubbing bubbles works. I have a metal table though so those might be too harsh. Hope this helps.

We had an incident w/ permanent marker on our new light oak cabinets, try using crest plain white toothpaste (not gel)... you can find it in the travel size. Rub it onto the affected area w/ slightly damp cloth or paper towel. This took the permanent black marker off our cabinet and did not take off the varnish. Good luck!
