I think it depends on the age and experience...my 14 yr old gets paid 7.50 for two kids
but I know people that pay 10.00 for ONE kid.....
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they pay their babysitter and/or nanny for watching two kids? I was told that $10/hr for my two boys (ages 3.5yrs and 6 months) is standard...does that sound right? I plan on having her watch the kids 3days/wk and drive my eldest to preschool (just down the street). Thank You.

I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 5 yr old. I pay 7 for both and 5 for one. Ten is high.
I live in Commerce Twp. and I think $10 is to high. $7.50 sounds more accurate. I do generally round to the next dollar if the sitter does a great job or goes out of her way.
Hi J.,
I think that's ridiculous! I paid my first babysitter in this area $8 per hour for two kids, and was still told that was too high. Most people I know pay between $5- $8 per hour for two kids, depending on the relationship (friends or relatives are paid less). Still I think $10 is way too much, can you tell her you've done some research and found that the going rate is $7-8 or something like that, then see how she reacts. If she gets nasty she is probably not the person you want watching your kids anyways. Of course if you are totally dependant on this one person you may have no choice, but I found when I was looking for childcare there were tons of people looking to do babysitting. Good luck! C.
