Hi Mamas,

Yes I know asking this question is like beating a dead horse..."It's been asked before" sigh.......I have a cookie exchange to go to in a few weeks and need a great recipe. Yes I also know I can go to allrecipe.com but would like to know from you personally which recipes are a hit and are easy to make and would go over well. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I love making oatmeal cookies with peanut butter chips in them or you can substitute toffee chips - YUMMMY! A nice (decadent) twist on the oatmeal cookie.
I also like to add white chocolate chips and cranberries in lieu of semi-sweet in the toll house cookie recipe.
Have fun!

I absolutely LOVE no bake cookies. I remember making them as a kid with the neighbor and her brother when I was a little kid so you know they're easy!

2 cups white sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
3 cups quick cooking oats

Directions:

1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the cocoa, sugar, milk and butter. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Boil for 1 minute.

2. Remove from heat and stir in the salt, vanilla, oats and peanut butter.

3. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Allow cookies to cool for at least 1 hour

Still my favorites!

Cowboy Cookies:

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cups flour
1 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
1 cup coconut
1 cup craisins

In a large mising bowl beat butter on med-high for 30 seconds. Add sugars, baking powder and baking soda. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in egg and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with mixer. Stir in any remaining flour and rolled oats, coconut and craisins.

Drop dough by rounded teaspoons, 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake in a 375 deg oven for about 8 minutes or until edges are golden. Cool on cookie sheet 1 minute. Transfer to wire rack and let cool. Makes about 48 cookies.

These are a hit in my house:

A few tips to make them even easier...I use a whole bag of chocolate chips and a whole bag of marshmallows.
No need to measure those out.
:)
Yum!
Oh and cinnamon graham crackers make them even yummier.
That's my take on oatmeal cookies...choc. and cinnamon.

I love the Nestle Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies. However, instead of using butter, use regular shorning, not the butter flavored. A coworker turned me on to these, and they turn out perfect every time!! Good luck!

I make oatmeal cookies using the recipe on the Quaker oats round-box - but I use dried cherries or berries instead of raisins (not a big raisin fan) I double up on the vanilla and cinnamon, add walnuts and sometimes I add coconut. If I'm in a rush I make them as bars instead of cookies. I've also drizzled melted choclate over the bars before I cut them into bars. Mmmmm.

I also will add nuts (pecans or walnuts) and/or coconut to the toll-house recipe on the Nestles chocolate chip bag.

I really like Jam Thumbprints. Im sure any cook book would have the recipe. I think I use the Better Homes and Gardens one, but since we are getting ready to move I have packed it and cant tell you the recipe. But they are the ones you mix up the dough, make balls, dip in egg white, roll in chopped nuts place on a cookie sheet and smoosh your thumb down into the center, making a small bowl. Bake them, and when cool and ready to go to the party, you spoon strawberry jam into the little bowl. I think they look very Christmasy on a plate!
