I'm in the mood to make chocolate chip cookies. I'm thinking of the ones with pudding.

So how do you do your chocolate chip cookies? Pudding? No pudding? Toll House? Oatmeal? Tell me your favorite recipe.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well I made them but they didn't live up to my expectations. I guess my waist line is grateful for that. I think it was reading all of your yummy recipes, variations, and additions. (I have visions of macadamia nuts dancing in my head now!) Sadly my daughter is nut and milk allergic so no real butter, milk chocolate chips, or nuts here :-(

As for the pudding, it is just the dry mix and it does keep them soft.

Thanks for all of your ideas! I might have to try some of your recipes/variations and just plan to keep them for myself LOL

I always followed the recipe on the back of the Nestle bag of chocolate chips.
And doubled the vanilla and chips.
I like just enough cookie to hold the chocolate together.
I had high school football players almost fight over my cookies - they couldn't get enough of them!

We grew up with mom using the recipe right from the bag of Toll House chocolate chips. I always considered those 'home made' ;)

I do what B does. Use real butter, too, not margarine or other substitute. And I often add a cup of m&m's to mine as well. :)

I make the one on the Toll House chocolate chip cookie bag and am ALWAYS complimented on how good they are. I use Darigold butter and swear that THAT makes all the difference.

I love love love Toll House chocolate chip cookies. But instead of using butter, try shortening (plain, not butter flavored). Way more fattening, but super delicious.

I have never heard of a chocolate chip cookie recipe with pudding. Why would you do that? My friend uses sour cream in them and they are gross. Toll House has a good recipe and use butter unless someone is allergic. I personally like adding oatmeal to the cookie but you can maybe do oatmeal chip for 1/2 and just chip for the other half.

I have a wicked one. Actually it's not mine, it's from the Food Network but I amended it just a little.

1 tsp finely chopped fresh rosemary (or 1/2 tsp dried)
1 stick unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup mini chocolate chips
1 cup all-purpose or bread flour

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Cream the butter and sugar together with a hand mixer (or in a food processor). Add in the rosemary, salt, and flour 1/4 cup at a time. Mix until soft dough forms. Transfer dough to a bowl and add chocolate chips - mix by hand. Set in fridge for about 10 minutes. On floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into rectangles and put on cold ungreased baking sheet. Prick the tops with a fork to look like shortbread. Bake 25-30 minutes.

Taste of Home's Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies is my go-to recipe (http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/Chewy-Chocolate-Chip-C.... I've even switched out the chocolate chips for dried cranberries & used lemon pudding.

B.P. - pudding keeps the cookies soft

I always make Amaretto Chocolate Chip cookies. The recipe calls for coconut and white chocolate chips, so I just changed that for regular or Ghiradelli dark chocolate ships. They are yummy!

Now I will have to make a batch when I get home!

I always use the recipe for Island Cookies - they are super good - and include coconut, walnuts (or you can use the macadamia - I never have those at home) and chocolate chips - so darn good! Now I want to make cookies too! :-)

My God Mother makes THE best choc chip cookies! She says she uses the recipe off of the Nestles bag. I can never make them like she does! (And I'm a baker!) I like to add oatmeal and coconut sometimes! YUM! Everyone else seems to like my choc chip but me! They are my husbands favorite!

If you would like cookies with oatmeal, try making oatmeal scotchies. It uses butterscotch chips and should be on the back of the toll house bag (any toll house recipe is amazing). I'm a chocolate girl, but these are so good, sweet and crunchy that I think I like them as much, maybe more than chocolate chip.
