Prune juice, pears and lots of water.
My daughter has been drinking whole milk for about a week now, but she's been constipated everyday for about 2 1/2 weeks. I've used karo syrup, apple juice and don't know how else to relieve my little one. She screams and cried when pushing and her stools look like pebbles or big solid rocks. Have any of you moms used anything that you think might help? Thank you!
Prune juice, pears and lots of water.
I babysit a little girl that drinks a little prune juice in her milk it helps. Also my aunt says put an apple in the microwave for about 3 - 4 minutes until soft add cinnamon and it works as a laxative and tastes good too. I have used this on my kids and it works great. Good luck
PRUNE JUICE!!! My son had some pooh issues and this did the trick. half water, half prune juice. It takes about a day to work and sometimes less. I would cut out other things that could stop her up as well - any other dairy products. Also, high fiber fruits - pears, prunes, apples, etc. could help her. Try to go the natural route before giving her chemicals. Also, massaging her lower back & lower abdimin can help along with pumping her legs to help "work" it out of her.
A little prune juice should do the trick :)
Also, make sure she is drinking lots of water too, not just milk.
If you have tried all the at home remedies please call her Pedi...it's time for some professional help. I'm not sure the whole milk is what is constipating her, but you may also want to try prune juice, pear juice or the pureed forms of either.
Please don't give her any kid of OTC laxatives or suppositories until you have seen her doctor. They can do damage to the colon function if not used properly or dosed correctly. I only speak from a friend's experience and her son has been very ill for quite sometime.
Good Luck and I hope your little girl feels better!!
