Computer Donation

Does anyone know of a place that we can donate 4 working computers? It seems that many places recycle computers for a nominal fee, but I prefer to donate them somewhere that would make good use of them. Local suggestions appreciated (north suburbs).

What can I do next?

Please call Peoples Resource Center in Wheaton. Their phone # is ###-###-####. They also have a location in Westmont if that is closer.

They offer computer access and training to low-income households with classes to get individuals into the job force and able to get on a computer to help improve their life and job skills.

I'm sure that they would love to have the donations as they are always looking for them.

Hope this helps

Hi -

My husband and I have a computer business on the side and we will take any computers and strip them of all information and either use the computer, if usuable, or use the parts to make new computers and then we'll donate them out to local school systems, or churches, or any family that may need a computer but cannot afford one.

If you still have the computer and want more info -
let me know

Congrats on the twins :)

I would see if you have a woman's shelter or place like that. These women are often looking for work and sometimes the shelters can use computers to either teach skills or help them write resumes.

I understand you prefer someplace local; however, Streewise, a nonprofit magazine organization could probably get some good use out of them. I donated my printer to them.
