Comcast vs AT&T

We currently have Comcast for cable and internet. It seems like once a month (always on a weekend) its not working with no signal. It really hasn't been a real concern but since my son is sick laying on the couch we have nothing to watch but dvds. I don't know if its because we are in Cypress and they are tearing up every road expanding. My question is does anyone have AT&T for cable-internet and how do you like it? I'm thinking about changing since I already have our home phone and cell phone's with them. Just asking before we switch. Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

AT&T has always been better than Comcast and I don't know why alot of people even switched to their phone service.I know AT&T are kind high on somethings but I have always liked their service cause you can get the lifeline discount also.

We have had AT&T U-verse for over a month now and love it. We haven't had any interuption of service and with bundling, you can really get some great deals. Doing over the internet will get you more discounts. Their installation guys are wonderful, but be prepared, it does take a whole day (depending on how many TV's you have) because they put in all their own wiring. We had 5 TV's done and he was here for 7 hours.

We have AT&T U-verse, and after a few bugs were ironed out, we've had a really good experience with them. They have a 1-800 service number to call if you have problems, and usually they can fix whatever's wrong right over the phone! I will tell you that it takes a while to get used to the way the system works. It's all wireless except for a "gateway" that sits by your computer. You will have training by the technician who installs everything, but believe me, it will take a while to get everything straight. After that, we have practically no problems at all.

One thing I must tell you: My sister-in-law has a friend who had AT&T U-verse and had HUGE problems with it. He finally had it all removed and went back to regular cable. I don't know why he had so much trouble, but it does happen evidently.

Hope this helps a little.

We have AT&T Uverse and I LOVE it .. we previously had Direct TV and when we moved in our new home (2 years ago) .. we were always having trouble similar to your experience. Before switiching to AT&T Uverse; we were going to try Comcast; but that was a nightmare in itself .. we have our internet and cable (Digital TV) through AT&T now and have no significant problems; other that during the hurricane; but that was to be expected! GOOD LUCK .. those DVDs get old really quick!!

Hi J.,
I had Comcast(not satisfied at all), & when we moved we subscribed to AT&T Dish Satallite, which we enjoyed 100% more than Comcast. In September AT&T U-verse became available in our area, so we switched to this cable service. I didn't think I could be happier with a cable company over the satallite, but we love it. The only problem we have ever had was when we had no power. But as soon as it was restored then we had our TV's and internet back immediatley. Great picture, fast internet and you can bundle all of your services. Home phone, cell phone, internet and cable to save more. They seem to always be offering specials in the area. The Houston area now has total DVR watching from any box in the house. You can DVR up to 4 shows at a time and then watch them from any box in the house. It's great. Hope this helps with your decision.

I have Comcast too and they are terrible. Our phones and alarm system are on digital through the modem too, so every time it goes out, we lose everything. Also, I'm sure ours goes out at least 2 or 3 times a month, whenever there is so much as one raindrop. I really don't understand -- we never had these issues when it was Time-Warner.

At any rate, I would change to AT&T in a heartbeat if it were available by me but it's not. I've heard only good things about AT&T Uverse.

We also had Comcast and we switched to AT&T for our internet and AT&T Uverse for our cable and we just love it. The people who do the customer service are really helpful too and I am not much of a technical person at all. I have been really pleased with their all around service and would recommend it to anyone.
