I'm new to cloth diapers and I'm wondering if you can use baby powder. Is if even worth it?

What can I do next?

Nah, unnecessary. The only thing I use "baby powder" for (actually, it's just cornstarch) is when my boys get their hair cut, I use it to dust the hair off their neck. I keep this and a blush brush in my glove compartment for this reason. LOL!
If you think you need a protective barrier against wetness Grandma El's and California Baby are ok for cloth. I also use coconut oil when I have it on hand. Many other diaper rash creams will gunk up the cloth and make them repel moisture and you most certainly don't want that! ;-)

Baby powder is not neccessary at all. It smells nice, but that is about it. Save your money!

Powder isn't really necessary if the baby starts out dry. After it gets wet, it does little more than hold wetness next to the skin. If you do choose to use it, use a cornstarch and NOT TALC, which is harmful to the lungs. Even with the cornstarch, handle it carefully so your baby won't have to inhale it.

HI--
Baby powder has talc in it, and talc is toxic. So no, don't use baby powder.

Yes use cornstach baby powder especially in the summer as it will keep baby cooler and reduce risk of chafing.

I wouldn't use baby powder (I don't actually know why you need it in ANY diaper cloth or other wise). Make sure your baby is good and dry before you diaper and it shouldn't be a problem. I just think wet talc could be more trouble than it's worth when it comes to cleaning them. See if your baby can live without the powder.

Hope this helps.
