I just found this Enz-Away cleaner at Cub. It took a 5+ year old unknown, ground in stain out of my carpet and instantly dissolves the little random spill stains we have. Plus it smells nice and minty. http://restoreproducts.com/

That question made me smile -- been there! (This past weekend it was pink marker on carpet.) We use our scuncci steamer to remove almost any spill or stain. They are about $60 at Target but are great with spills like that, disinfecting toys, and all kinds of cleaning! Good luck!!

It may work better to let it dry and pick or cut it out. I had to do that with kids slime before and I just used scissors and cut it out of the carpet when I was done and although I cut the carpet it wasn't noticable.

My son loves syrup and gets it everywhere. I use a rag soaked with hot water and blot it on the syrup. It takes a little time but it comes out.
