I am looking for someone to come into my home 2 days a week (8:30-5:30) to care for my 4 year old son. Does anyone know someone looking for part time work this summer. I would prefer Mondays and Fridays.

Hello M.,
My name is Isabel and I own and operate my in home daycare. Depending on the age would depend alot on how much we usually charge. I my self have a prgram set up for parents. If you bring your child up to 20 hours a week in any combo it is $55 weekly or you can pay per day ( more expesive). Per day for up to 4 hours is $20 and over 4 hours is $30 daily. If you have an infant then it is a little more expensive and an infant is considered any child under 18mos. I hope that helped you out a little in your research and I do have openings if you are looking. I am pretty close to the Richardson area too. Thanks,
Isabel

I paid $200/ week or $40 per day. There were only three kiddos in her care and she provided meals, as well.

I know that rates are not regulated but most registered or licensed in home providers charge around $35-45/day. I charge my part-timers $38/day, but for the one who quoted you $70/day that's still less than $7.50/hour which is still cheaper than you'd get if you got a babysitter. Look on the Texas Dept. of Family site at www.txchildcaresearch.org for registered or licensed providers in your zip code so you can call around and good luck!

Hi! well I work 5 days a week with the same family. Is two adults and the a 2 1/2 beautiful baby! I clean the house, do laundry, do groceries and other things that may come up, and take care of the baby too. We agree to do it as salary for $500/week if that give you an idea of how much to pay. I am a certified CPR instructor for adult, child and infant. Frist aid and AED. working in the swiming certificate. They are very nice and they even let the baby stay at my house when one of the parents is out of town. They gave me a cc to pay for groceries, haircut for baby etc. oooo! I cook for them one or two days a week too. Take care and good luck!

It really depends on your location and what is provided. I have been a provider in Irving for over 20 years. I charge $150 a week for all ages other than after school. But I don't do part time or drop ins. A provider who does do part time or drop ins has to save that spot at all times and gives up a full time rate. We are only allowed a certain number of spots to fill. Being a widow...one income...I need all of my spots to be full time. Someone with a second income might be able to give some breaks.

Main thing is to feel comfortable where your child is. To not have to worry about him all day. Will he be in a vehicle several times a week with the provider? Does she smoke? Pets? You then have to weigh the pros and cons. And "gut" instinct plays a big roll in your choice.

I'm the only one around who provides the diapers, wipes, baby food and formula besides meals for older kids.

So, you can see how it might vary.

Good luck and God Bless.

I'm answering because I'm in Richardson and I think it's generally cheaper because they hesitate to raise their prices over time, I guess. I saw $130 per week on the low end and I paid $170/week for an ex-teacher and excellent care.

The average cost is 35.00 per day for an inhome childcare.
That is what I charge and It's been in that same range from other child care providers I have spoken too.

Thanks

My daughter goes to an in-home preschool and they charge $31/day - and that is pretty consistent with our area.

$70/day sounds very high......

Good luck!

I was paying $150 a week a year ago for full time, so I would say that is reasonable given the time that has passed and the part time status.

I will say for your area, the average price per day is $35.00. I think $70.00 is way too much for a 3 yr. old
I don`t even know of anybody that charges that amount for a newborn!
My suggestion is to call other 2 or 3 providers in the area you are looking for and then go from there.
