Childcare NIGHTMARE!!!!

Round 2 is over and I can not seem to find a good daycare for my son. Daycare one allowed his to have 5 accidents in 7 weeks (the last one requiring an ER visit) and the second one could not tell me if my son had eaten, napped or pooped. They could never locate his daily activity sheet. I feel like I'm hurting my son and failing as a parent with every bad decision I make regarding daycares. I need help.

What can I do next?

I do understand, its really hard to balance parenting and work. We have used in home care (nanny) out of home care (a friend) and two daycares. Sometimes accidents are accidents, othertimes they can and should be prevented. My son burnedhimself with a curling iron on his hands and feet when he was with a regular babysitter and she left him alone. I have also had help (sister-in-law) that went through all our financial statments (personal and corporate). Weve also delt with daycares that ignored food intolorances then lied about it.

Finally we have found something that works. I dont know where you are located or how old your son is but I would reccomend Trinity Lutheran Childrens Center. It is a fully accreited shcool and day care, where the staff cares about the children and their development at all levels. It is on whashington ave. close to downtown houston.

I hope this helps a little.

I know how hard it is to find childcare as a working mom. I did NOT want to put my daughter in daycare, and was fortunate to find someone to watch her in her home part-time. It's worked out great. If you could find someone to do that, I highly recommend it. Where do you live?
My coworker takes his 4 year old to Montessori Learning Cottage, and said it's the only daycare he ever felt comfortable taking her to. I think if I had to take her some place full time, I would try there.
It's so hard to find a good place. It's not your fault, and you're not failing as a parent! Just keep looking and networking! I know there is a woman on this site who started an in-home child care in Pearland. There are a lot of wonderful, helpful women on this site. Something will come through for you! Let me know if I can help in any way.

I am not sure how old your child is or where you live, but I do have a suggestion. We have our children in a school, not a daycare. And this school starts taking children at 2yrs. old although I do know that class is full right now. We love the school and our children love it too, they are doing really well and learning a lot also. The name of the school is Stepping Stones and it is in the Southwest part of town. I have recommended it many times on this site! If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
