Childcare in Royal Oak-seeking Recs

We haven't decided on what kind of childcare we'd like for our baby girl (6 weeks old today) when I return to work in October. In home, at our house, au pair, facility-all are options.

I'm interested in someone(s) who will stimulate her, help her with baby signs, provide a healthy and happy environment, the usual good stuff we moms look for in good child care. A hearty recommendation means a lot to me, so I'm reaching out to the moms out there. Know of anyone/anyplace?

What can I do next?

www.msdschoolhouse.com SHe is located in Oak park. It's a home daycare and my son has been with her since he was 6 weeks old and I wouldn't dare take him to anyone else. Check her out, she also has reviews on this site.

Hi there. Congrats. Sunny Skies on 11 Mile Road is really good. We got to Tyndel Day Care in Berkely. It's part of the school district and I think it's great. Try and get on a waiting list somewhere now. Lots of them have long waiting lists.

elizabeth miller on linden street in royal oak. a small home day care.

she is listed - she is licensed by the state.

look on michigan.gov.. from the website there are links to find all of the licensed childcare providers.

-- personally- for an infant I would want 1 on 1 care in my home.. but that is expensive.

FYI: It may be difficult for you to get yor daughter into a traditional day car facility this late in the game as many have waiting lists.

I take my son to Katie's Kid, a Chrisitan day care in downtown Royal Oak.

They use signs for the basic's and I taught him more at home. I am amazed every day at how much he learns through school.

I completely trust every one who works there; they truly love and care for my son. He loves it.

I could not afford in home care nor did I know anyone that used an at home daycare. I looked up online the records of a few facilities and visited each of them. Katie's by far was my favorite.

Good luck, it is a difficult decision to make. It is very hard to go back to work and let someone else care for your baby; although my son has learned so much at his "school" I do not feel as guilty. I hope you can find a way to stay home.
