Was wondering what other moms do to get cheap and discounted baby items out there. I already shop the resale/consignment shops and craigslist. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Ebay has some nice things. Also, find out when the next Moms of Multiples sale is. They are usually twice a year, I think spring and fall.

Garage sales are starting up, big time in my area. I watch for them and check out for clothes etc. For any equipment, make sure you check for any recalls before going so you know what to look out for. A lot of people don't know that something has been recalled.

I shop at Target on there $5-6 dollar racks. I buy 1 of everything and mix and match them. There stuff is really cute and better quality than Walmarts Garanamals. I figure a shirt can't get much cheaper than $5 unless the $5 is on clearance then I can get it for like $3!

Haven't been there, but someone earlier this week posted something about how www.freecycle.com was where you go to "recycle" your items, give them away to others that want it. Might be worth a try.

I have found cheap things on Ebay too...but the BEST ones are at garage sales in your local area.

I don't have time to garage sale, so I did research on mom-to-mom sales (consignment sales). I asked friends & acquaintances for suggestions or if they knew of any sales.

For clothes, if I need to, I hit the thrift stores if I need something common to find (shirts, pants, etc.)

In our area, there is a Mother of Twins Club that has a sale 2x per year--you might check to see if there is such a club in your area. If they don't hold a sale themselves, I'd bet they know about all the mom-to-mom sales.

If I had time, I would garage sale, particularly in the upper middle class areas of our city, since you can often get better deals there than anywhere. But the hit or miss and research/laying out a decent route to maximum effort is just not something I'm inspired enough to try to do at this point...

My mother hits the garage sales, and almost every single toy and piece of clothing my son owns comes from them. She doesn't buy things that are stained or damaged in any way, and she finds terrific stuff! Everything from kid-sized tables to ride-on cars and my Medela breast pump (all new plastic pieces, of course), not to mention all of his outfits. Watch the papers and check it out!

We use the Freecycle group mentioned earlier. But also check Yahoo groups for a Classifieds group in your area. You get emails from people listing things they are selling so you don't have to gravel unless they have the specific items you want to buy.
