my son is turning 21 in Jan and I want to take him to Las Vegas.............any ideas how to get a really cheap flight. I want to leave LAX around 11am on Jan 20th and return around 2-3pm on Jan 22. The best deal I have seen so far is about $102 per person

What can I do next?

From LA? girl drive! Take the 15 up and in - yeah - it might take 4 hours - but it's time with your son and a lot less that $200 in gas. You can save that $200 for the tables!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

If you still insist on flying - southwest airlines flies in and out of LAX and ONT every hour or two to (southwest is $71 per/person) even Burbank - depending upon where you are in Los Angeles.

Southwest is a no brainer, especially 21 days in advance with the web special.

I book air tickets all the time for hubby who travels to Houston from Dallas. I get a round trip ticket at least 21 days in advance for just over $100.

Don't mess with discounters, the airlines have good deals.

I hear there are really good deals if you book between Christmas and New Years. Thats what I am waiting for anyways. :)

Check out travelocity, expedia and travelzoo. I'm on their email lists and see deals to Las Vegas all the time.

That's probably as good as it's going to get on the weekend. If you can go during the week you might be able to find something cheaper. Don't just limit yourself to flying RT on one airline, my last trip I fly out on Southwest, but returned on JetBlue, saving about $40.
