I've found, in general, that electronic devices of any type charge much slower on the computer than directly into the wal. Get one of those converters for a USB line into AC wall outlet.
I'm sure I could go online and find the answer but I'm being lazy this Wednesday afternoon ;-)
When I plug in the Kindle to charge it takes FOREVER compared to ipods and phones. I assume the Kindle is bigger and therefore has a larger battery but is there a rapid charger out there for it?

When I have charged my Kindle on my computer it takes FOREVER and a day...when I charge off the wall? It's done in about 2 hours.
I don't know if there is a rapid charger....I have used my mopie to charge it (the on-the-go battery charger)....do you have one of those?
I did the google search for you...here's what I found..

Good luck!!
There is a rapid charger that you can buy from Amazon (we have one) but my husband asked them at Best Buy if there is a cheaper version that we can use and there is. We have one of those as well. There is virtually no difference in the amount of time and the one from Best Buy was a lot cheaper. But definitely don't use your computer to charge - that does take forever.
I agree...left it in for a few hours the other day thinking it would be fully charged...only to see the low battery light pop up right away.
I just try to remember to plug it in (wall charger) overnight.
I use the same cord for my kindle that I use for my phone. Plugged straight into the wall.
