Cell Phone Issue?

I have Verizon and my sis will tell me she called and I did not answer, hubby too. Then they get mad at me. But my phone did not ring. Cell phones are so finicky due to signal issues. I can have a total signal but lose ti for one second and the phone does not ring. Anything that interferes with the antenna or satellite blocks the signal and it only has to happen for a second. And since the signal is blocked , no missed call.

I have AT&T. It happens to me occasionally, but happens to my daughter all the time we are on the same plan but different phones.

Maybe he dialed the wrong number.

Reception in Publix is almost non exsistent. I ALWAYS have problems in there as does my hubby and we are also on AT&T. I've also had to deal with an angry husband when I didn't answer his call. Of course it's perfectly fine for him to miss my calls but heaven forbid I not answer on the first ring. :-D

Yes, the same thing has happened to me and my husband with AT&T. Not sure why. We have even had issues with texting and sending pictures. Sometimes we get them and sometimes we do not. I think it is an AT&T thing not a phone or signal thing. This has also happened to my mom who is on our plan and the three of us have three different phones.

Go with T-mobile...We have been with them for over 9 year's now and have never had any issues...Plus they offer some great deals too! Another thing is call your carrier and let them know, they may have to trouble shoot your cell..

How is/was your recpetion when he called? My phone will do that if I'm in an area where I don't get many or any bars. Then later I'll get the message. I've also had this happen where the message is delayed a day or so. He shouldn't get mad at you, I can understand his frustration but these technical things are far from infallible.

My stepdaughter has had her phone tell her about a missed call way after the fact. If I want to reach her for a pick up, I usually text her instead. I forget what phone she has, one of those that slides out with a keyboard. We're also AT&T, but no one else in the family reports that problem.

Also, some stores are black holes. Our local Target gets NO signal in the lower level.

Yes. I also have at&t. I have had issues with that too. Sometimes it will take a day or two for a text or voicemail to appear. I have missed things due to this, and have had people get mad and think I'm lying about not getting their calls. I am going to switch providers asap.

I get frustrated with my SO. He will text me to call him. I see it immediately and call right back. I'm like - jerk! Why ask me to call and then dont answer. But he swears he doesnt get the call. We are on 2 differant carriers. Verizon and Sprint. I'ved decided to believe that the 2 carriers don't communicate well, rather than be mad at my honey.

I have boost mobile and I have problems getting text and when in Kroger freezer area I don't get calls, can't make calls or text. My niece text me yesterday and sometimes even not in areas like the freezer just won't get text for 24 hours after the fact. I turn my phone off for a few minutes to re-boost it and it doesn't make a difference.

Ask in your area where you live about service. We used to use TMobile and it worked great, but once our daughter moved up east, it was not so good, she said people up there find Verizon worked best for that area.. so we switched.

I think it really makes a difference where you live , the terrain and the actual coverage areas, Just ask around in your neighborhood and around your city,

Totally normal. Annoying, but normal. Frustratingly irritating, but normal. I also have AT&T and sometimes, when I'm at the pool for my kids' swimming lessons or at my sister's house, I don't even get a signal - TOTALLY can't make or get calls. But for some reason, texts go through just fine...

My Verizon phone does the same thing. I have had times when I will randomly look at it, and see that I have a new voice mail. No missed calls, phone didn't ring at all... Just a new voice mail out of the blue. It pisses me off, because I am currently job hunting and would hate to miss a call from a potential employer. I pay good money for my service, and it's EXPENSIVE! The least they can do is make sure I am getting the service I am paying for. >:( Grr.

My dad has that happen with his Cricket phone all the time. He'll get random voicemails pop up and he was holding his phone and didn't hear it ring or feel vibrate!

I have heard that Publix has cell phone blockers in the store. Don't know if this is true and why they would.

Yes, it happens to me too - and I don't have AT&T.

it's an AT&T thing AND an iphone thing. My husband will call me over and over and nothing will show up on my phone. Tell him to chill out.

We all 3 have IPhones in our family and it has happened to all 3 of us at one time or another. I don't know why but it has happened. We don't get mad at each other about it, we realize that is actually does occur on occasion.

That's happening a lot with my sister's phone and she has T-mobile. I don't necessarily think it's just one providers issue. I think it's across the board with them all from time to time. What's really irritating to us, is that the only phone service that works at my house is AT&T which is what we have but we really don't have a choice in the matter. None of the other phone services work out in our area. So that's kind of a bummer for us.

Yep - that happens to me. Not as frequently as it used to.

If I am in Giant (our local grocery store) it won't ring on my end - and it will go to VM - but I don't get the notification until I walk out the door - my update will not show ANY calls missed.

Find out how to "update" your phone - with Verizon we dial *228 and then press 2 - this just updates the cell towers, etc.

This happens to us, too. We are on the edge of the coverage zone (Verizon). If I'm in the basement, I will receive texts, but not calls. Every so often, I will get dropped calls at my house and I do a service range test????Not sure exactly the lingo, but I call a number and it seems to help my signal. For us, I started with an LG phone, but the service was bad-had to walk out into my driveway to get a signal. Verizon recommended I get a Motorola or Samsung, because they have better atennas within the phone. I will also have trouble when I'm in a bigger store-certain areas are dead zones.
Talk to AT&T. If you are in a bad coverage zone and you just started your contract, you SHOULD be able to trade out the phone for one that has a better antenna. Or, maybe it was just a fluke- a dead spot where you were. If it keeps happening, definitely talk to AT&T before your 30 days (or whatever that company does) expires.
