Hello Ladies~
I need my carpets cleaned. Who have you been disappointed with and/or happy with. I don't want some guy with a truck that is contracted out by a larger company. Thank you for any advice you can you give.

What can I do next?

I do it myself with my Bissell (with a water heater on it). This is the 3rd steam cleaner we have owned. I've found when I do it myself, I clean more carefully and thoroughly than the companies that come out here. I prefer to have my own machine rather than renting one and getting someone else's dirt and germs.

I've used Stanley Steemer. They were ok. At the end, they "rake" the carpet and you can't see the spots that were not removed until you run the sweeper on it.

I've used Kiwi. That process just seems like it is grinding dirt into the carpet with some air freshner.

Dalworth. I've used them more than anyone else BUT...the last time I called them concerned because some white truck showed up at my house and I had no idea who it was. They told me they contract out. I told them I was not interested in some stranger coming into my house. No where did the truck mention Dalworth. Some guy just showed up at my door.

SO.........we invested in the Bissell which is by far the best cleaner we have had to date. I use the cleaning solution from Home Depot (no suds) and for tough spots (we have dogs) I add a little clorox II to the soap. When I rinse, after I have the soap up, I rinse again with some vinegar water.

I have used Joy Carpet & Dry Cleaning for almost a decade for my home and for my rental property; I have 30 rental units that have carpet. Joy is a little more expensive than some of the ads you see, but they are not a "carpet shampoo" company. Joy uses a dry cleaning process that is much superior in results to a shampoo. It's family owned and the same people have worked there a long time. You can search the web for them and find their web site or look in the yellow pages in Plano - I don't have my address list with me right now.

I used Doug's Mighty Clean out of Plano. The service was excellent with a very friendly staff. Plus, price is based on stories rather than rooms (like Kiwi does). So I paid $110 for my entire one story to be cleaned. Hope this helps.

There are some machines that you can rent from walmart. They cost about 34.00 with the soap to rent and they do a great job. Rather than calling a service and spending 175.00 for just 3 rooms. You have to do it yourself but it does a good job.
