Hi C.,
Try the husky section in JC Penny or Sears. I had the same problem with my daughter.

Need Help. My precious 4 1/2 year old is tall for her age and big boned like her mama. I am having a horrible time finding pants or jeans to fit her. She wears size 6X in tops, dresses, and skirts but the 6x jeans don't fit. The length is perfect but just shy of snapping or buttoning. If we go to size 7 they sometimes fit and still sometimes do not and then the length is just WAY too long. Where should I go? What should I do? We did find a couple of pairs of size 7 "capri" pants that fit great and were normal length jeans for her but now they are getting to be a bit too short. Help mammas!!! My girl is precious cute and I don't know what to do.

C. and idea would be to buy her size 7 pants and have it hemmed down somewhere. It doesn't cost much to get it done and you wouldn't have to worry about finding a speciatly jeans, which would for sure cost way more than taking it altered. Many dry cleaning places do alterations and only charge about 5 bucks to do it.

My daughter is the same way...JC Penney has the Arizona jeans in a plus size...a little more room in the waist but not overwhelming in the length...
You could always hem them saving about an inch so you can take out the hem later...
