So What Happened?

i had my baby in arizona but moved to oklahoma 2 months ago and i called my primary here and talked to an ob and they both said since they didnt do the operation by law they are not suppose to touch it it has gotten bigger it started about the size of a q-tip and is now about the size of a dima and is still opening i am planning on going to hospital when my husband gets home its really painful and feels like someone is litterally pulling it open or tearing it

Please go to the hospital to have it looked at and let us know what happened. I've had 2 and never had any issues but if I did have one reopen, someone should definitely fix it and not tell you to put a bandaid over it.

Um.... I don't think your csection incision should be coming open at all! Especially after 5 months! That doesn't really sounds right, it sounds like your dr did a poor job closing it up.
I'd maybe call a different OB and get their opinion.
I'm sorry you have to deal with that!

Just wanted to add something on your "what happened note". I can not believe a doctor would say we aren't going to touch it because we weren't the doctor who operated---the sounds ridiculous!! Call other doctors....if someone had a boob job that went bad, another doctor would redo it! so what is different here....Of course another doctor will look at it and fix it....show me that law that says otherwise! Everyone goes for second opinions....other docs, I honestly can't believe that one!

After this long, it shouldn't be coming open. See the doctor!!!

I never heard of such! Please update us on this one--this is a consumer issue.

Oh, yeah--and PLEASE see another doctor or go to the ER. How can a doctor have you walk around with a hole in your belly?!

Sadly, not uncommon... That is really sad a medical professional told you to stick antibacterial ointment and a band-aid on it. You should demand the OB check on why it keeps re-opening... sounds like he didn't do the best job of suturing you up after major abdominal surgery.

How big is the opening? Is it deep...like could you stick a qtip head into it? Is it oozing at all?

I would not be happy at all period, but especially if the doctor didn't put eyes on it. How is your diet? Protein is important for wound healing. Have you had any problems with wound healing before?

when mine was healing I did the neosporin and instead of a bandaid had a pad stuck to the inside of my granny panties. I did this for at least 8 weeks (when I went back to work the pads did too!). I had problems with infections both times.
Definitely worth going into be seen for. Hopefully the hospital will do something - unless those dr's can't either!

High grade tea tree oil (melaleuca alternafolia oil) will help heal because it absorbs deep. I use T36-C5 which is high and it is non caustic. I also use an ointment that is the same oil in a beeswax base to keep it put. I had two c-sections and know this issue. Let me know if you'd like more info...

I would be complaining to ur doctor that did the csection. It should not be coming open and if it does ur OB should be having u come back in like once a week to check on it. Plus they should have bandaged it up for u. I have had 2 c sections, my first one did not heal all the way and the doctor gave me a antibiotic to pu on it twice a day because it because infected. Is this ur fist c section? Ur first baby? Have u gone to the hospital to get it checked out? And just for the record neosporin and a bandade will not help heal a re opened c section. How big is the opening?
