Hello moms:
I've being searching on a double stroller and have found some mix reviews on these two strollers I like. I'd like to read from those who have purchased and used any of these two strollers for an infant and a two and a half year old child. I notice there is a significant price difference between the two strollers and coming from buying a pricey one for my first child,I do not necessarily go for the most expensive one. My main concern on the Caboose one is that if my older son wants to nap there is no room or reclining seat to do it. The Bumbleride seems to be heavy and some people comment not very favorable on the stroller's fabric durability. It seems that there is not such a thing that the perfect stroller, but at least the most durable and practical one to use for some years with out paying to the nose to replace a part or to end up buying a fourth stroller due to lack of quality. Please, be concise with your pros and cons and in advance, thanks greatly for your savvy comments.

So What Happened?

Sorry for responding to my request this late. I got a relative who lent me a Mclaren double stroller with all the accessories. Thanks for your input in this matter

Hi L.,
I have the Joovy and 2 kids the same age span apart as yours. We've used the Joovy a fair amount of times, but I honestly could've gotten away with just my single stroller. My then 2 year old always preferred walking rather than riding and by that age she wasn't one to really nap while we were out. The baby fell asleep in the seat despite it's lack of a good reclining position. It has two positions - super upright and a bit reclined.

If your 2 year old would like to ride on it, it might be a better investment for you. Now that my oldest is 3.5, I hardly ever use it. So, for the 6 months that I really did use it, I probably could've just as successfully gotten around with the single stroller I already owned and love (Graco Metrolite).

Hope that helps!

My kids are almost the same distance apart as yours. We had a double stroller for a short while and then moved onto the Joovey Ultralight Caboose. It has been perfect. My oldest is now 4.5 and my youngest 2 and it is still being used.

Hi L.! I am a proud owner of an Indie Twin and a mom to two toddlers 3 yr and 23 months. I purchased my Bumbleride over a year ago when my youngest was still in an infant carrier. I am 5' tall and weigh 110#. I can lift the stroller into the trunk of my car with no problem at all. I swear my stroller gets more miles on it then my car does! The dirt on the fabric seats just proves how active we really are! We also attend One Fit Mama classes and nearly half of the moms who attend have a Bumbleride and LOVE them! I have not had any problems with the fabric. I have had problems with the stroller. Just recently I had to send it to the fixery. BR mailed me a box and arranged for UPS to come and pick it up. While it was there they decided that it would be best to mail me a new one rather then fix the old one! Not a penny out of my pocket! In 2009, they made some improvements on the frame of the stroller because they knew that there was a flaw. I don't know much about Joovy Caboose's customer service but I think ANYONE who has a Bumbleride would tell you that their customer service is superior. Good luck!

I do not have either of these strollers, but if you're willing to consider a third, I would HIGHLY recommend the Phil and Ted sport stroller (www.philandted.com). I bought mine for my 2 1/2 year old boy and newborn daughter. The convertible seats are a great option since the baby has a basinette type seat and can ride there from the beginning. A toddler sits "above, but can easily get in and out as needed. Once you switch the baby to the back seat (I did this at 3 mo with my daughter--she was only 10 lbs then, but was able to ride without problem) then the front seat has a nice recline for a napping toddler. Later it converts to a single stroller when the older one is done riding. The fabric has held up really well and cleans easily from baby spit-up to apple sauce and sticky lollipops! The front wheel swivels for an easy ride and it is extremely manuverable. The stroller folds flat for transport in a car trunk or SUV. It is a bit heavy (15 lbs?) but has never been overwhelming for me. If you have any other questions, feel free to email me. Good luck with your new baby! --N.
