Hello friends. At 29 and after 4 babies I am a 36B which I feel is tooooo small for my body. Ive always wished for bigger boobies.....and I'm really considering getting them for my 30th bday this Dec. My question is, how is the recovery? I know I'll have help from my hubby for a week, but will I be able to take care of myself and my kids after that? also what are the prices like? and will I have to get them replaced in 10 yrs or so? What kind of certifications should my doc have?? TIA!!!

What can I do next?

i have a couple of friends who've had this done and their experiences were different. both did do a lot of research in choosing a doctor. one friend was a small A cup and went to a large C-D cup and she was in much more pain due to the large cup size difference/adjustment. I believe she was in constant pain for 1-2 weeks (was sleeping sitting up or reclining), couldn't lift anything over 5-10lbs for a few more weeks, and no working out for a month or so. Another friend was a B cup and went to a large C and said she felt great after the first week.

Well, I always told my husband that I wanted to get one, but he said NO WAY! Only because his ex had a boob job and he said she was in horrible pain and there is no way he would want me to go thru that. So I know thats not much help, but that was his experience. I'm sure you'll get lots of responses from women who have actually done it. Good luck!!

Mine was a piece of cake! I was barely in any pain... Mine are half under/half over the muscle.. Put through the nipple...I have saline...My friend worked at the plastic surgeons office, so I got a discount.. I've had them for over 13 years now (got them when I was 20). I paid (back then) about 4,500...Nope, I don't have to have mine replaced, ever.

I have friends though, that were in a lot of pain for about a week.. I think it depends on the your pain tolerance, how gentle the doctor is during surgery, and how much you listen to the doctor afterwards..

I couldn't workout for about 2-3 weeks, and I couldn't lift anything heavier than 10 lbs for about 2-3 weeks...

I say for it! I have a lot of friends with implants and not one of them regrets it :) Just do your homework!!!

a lot depends on if you place your implants under the muscle or not. i did, and was in pretty rough pain for a few days. i could not get up from a laying position without help for close to a week. it's not a pain that's intolerable, but be prepared for some discomfort. my husband took a little less than a week off work, i had a neighbor lift my daughter out of her crib in the afternoon - seems like i couldn't lift over 5lbs for 3 weeks? it's been a few years, can't remember the specifics anymore!

Well, the big breasted women said it is not comfortable because they can't lay on their stomach and have constant backache. Also consider the risk of anesthesia, malpractice and scarring.
I just watched the documentary:my small breast and I. Just google them. Many men said that actually lemon, grapefruit or melon are equally interesting. I also feel insecure a lot whenever I see the magazine cover, butmaybe we can learn to accept ourselves start from now. I am a stomach sleeper and I can't imagine I have to give it up. Maybe it will be heavy to breath too if you lay on your back?
Note down pro and cons. How if it doesn't work or failed?
A big decision, especially with little kids to take care of.

Whatever they tell you is the normal recovery time? Double it. Just like house remodeling/construction, lol! I imagine you will need two weeks worth of help. And it WILL hurt. I had some lipo last year which is much less invasive, but it was still an ordeal (and my kids are older.)
Shop around, and don't base your decision on price. Check the American Medical Association for reviews/complaints. And MOST importantly, make sure the doc is board certified in plastic surgery. S/he could be board certified in podiatry and still be a practicing plastic surgeon. Do your homework and don't fall for any gimmicks and you should be fine :)

I have a dear friend who got them and had to have them re-done 3 times. They kept coming out wrong or lopsided. She has terrible scarring from the procedures and zero sensation in her breasts and nipples... essentially they are numb lumps. She is gorgeous... but she was gorgeous before she got them. She missed work and had to pay for 3 separate procedures, so the expense was tremendous. Not worth it from my perspective. I have never asked her if she thought it was worth it.

I have another friend who got them and loves them and said the pain and recovery were not too bad. So I think it is highly variable.

I am a 38 DD and would much rather be a 36 B. Mine are natural and hubby loves them.LOL But you have to decide for yourself after doing a lot of research on it.

good luck
