So What Happened?

well everyone seems to agree that warming the bottles in hot tap water is the way to go. I have been doing that and it seems to take so long. I breast feed so I don't think I would put "my milk" in the microwave. Thanks for all the info...

Hi C.,
With my first I had all my bottles filled with dry formula in them next to the bottle warmer in the nursery. I used a separate glass bottle to heat my water with and then poured it into the bottle and shook it up and then used it. I had to first play with the amount of water that I used in the bottle warmer (the area that you put the bottle in to warm it). I tried to use about 8 drops of water from my facet but you do have to adjust it with the amount you are using. I used a cup of water and a dropper by the warmer. The directions didn't help with knowing how much to use at all. After putting the water into it you then push the button that turns orange (a least my was orange) and wait until it pops back up to tell you its done warming. That's about it. I found it handy when he was really little during those late night feedings but didn't even use one with my 2nd baby. I still had them set up to mix with water but I used my glass mixing cup and the microwave instead. :)
If you need any more info let me know.

Trust me it is a lot faster to just warm the bottle in hot tap water.

don't microwave breastmilk! It kills all the good stuff! For what it's worth, I always gave bottles at room temp.

Depending on the bottle you are using I understand it isn't such a good idea to use bottle warmers. I understand that the plastic used to make some bottles out there breaks down and releases its chemicals into the liquid within them. I'm sure that is over time. You should Google it and find out....'plastic bottles' or something like it. You wouldn't want to be questioning it down the road iykwim.

When my 3 year old twins were babies and had weened from nursing I would warm their water in a separate non plastic container then poor it into the bottle with the formula. It's safer and probably takes the same amount of time.

Sorry I'm no help with your actual request.
