I am having the exact same problem with my daughter. My plan is to try luvs, suggested by multiple friends.
Hi,
I have been using pampers swaddlers for my 5 month old and he just went up a size which puts us into cruisers. These worked so well for my daughter but he seems to keep leaking out of them. Any suggestions of another brand we should try? (We tried huggies when he was a newborn and I just didn't like them as much as pampers.)
Thanks for all the responses. We are not costco members so don't have the option of kirkland. We decided to try huggies little movers and so far not one leak! I think whomever said that huggies are better for boys was right in our situtation.

Hey J.!
I would recommend trying Costco Kirkland brand diapers. They worked really well for us when my daughter outgrew the pampers swaddlers and I know a couple of other folks who use them for their little boys and they are really satisfied. They are cheap and super absorbent.
Good Luck
I am VERY happy with our Kirkland diapers from Costco and the price is right too.
I tried the value box Huggies, but found don't fit as snuggly around my girls legs and they are droopy in the crotch.
Some kid's body types just fit better in one brand than another, so you might need to try a few.
I use pampers baby dry for my son - he too leaked out of the cruisers! We also use Huggies overnights for him at night as they were the best at keeping him dry then!
we use luvs during the day and huggies night time diapers at night.
I had that problem too. Huggies Snug n Dry have an extra absorbent band at the waist and that works great:)
Now that he's bigger, give Huggies another try. Pampers gave my oldest a massive diaper rash, although I didn't know that was what caused it until I tried switching brands. I absolutely love Huggies, especially when they get a little more mobile. And honestly, Pampers and Huggies are the two big name brands and in this case there's a reason for that. I tried all of the bargain brands and none of them can hold up to what Pampers and Huggies can handle. (Especially Luvs, they literally disintegrate when they get soaked - like overnight - and the soaked stuffing falls out the sides, yuck!)
I use Costco own brand Kirkland....as good as the leading brand , no leaks even overnight.
I always preferred Huggies for my son. Are you near an ALDI? Their brand (Nanny's) is actually pretty good, very soft.
My daughter is a liquid baby -so she drinks water, milk and juice like crazy - when she was a baby and even thru toddler years she use to soaks thru her pull-ups all the time with the brands that you mentioned - I found Wal-Mart brand White Cloud to work perfectly for us. If your child is still in regular diapers LUVS were the BEST - very inexpensive but had a leak guard that was better than huggies, pampers and any other diapers out.
I have been using the kirkland brand from costco. They are great! They don't leak. My daughter is 6 months old and is currently wearing a size 4. The size 4 box comes with 186 diapers. The box is $38.99.
You are exactly right. The Pampers swaddlers are superior to the newborn Huggies. However for the rest of your child's life the Huggies are better. I know it's weird, but both of my boys were in swaddlers for the first 2 months and then switched to Huggies. Huggies makes GREAT diapers, but just not the newborns. Good luck!
I worked in daycare for a few years and noticed that most of the boys were in Huggies where the girls were in Pampers. I have been using Luvs for my 9 month old daughter since Pampers are too expencive. The only problem I have with the Luvs is she tends to poop out of them, a lot! They are cheap and that's why I stick with them but I think I'm ready to give a store brand a try. In my experience in daycare, the Target ones leak really easily, but that might have just been that child. We also had a pack of Food Lion diapers with she was a newborn and it's a good thing they were given to us, cause they wern't worth it at all!!!!! They didn't fit well and they leaked after the first half hour! Good luck in finding a better diaper.
I use Target brand diapers. My son is allergic to Huggies and Pampers are so expensive! For a box of 94 it is 13.99. They are the best diapers, they have never leaked. I have been very surprised and pleased.
Huggies Little Movers are great! Since my son is using these, he has not had any accidents. :-)
I have twins so I got twice as much diaper experience in a short amount of time. Is he leaking at night only or all of the time? Is he leaking out of the top or on the sides. I would suggest trying the pampers baby dry or the pampers cruisers ultra absorbancy (sold at BJ's). We used the baby dry until the twins started crawling and then switched to the cruisers. To me there is a worthwhile difference between the ultra absorbancy cruisers and the regular cruisers. I also like the Huggies Little Movers and the huggies natural diapers. At night we use Huggies Overnight diapers and are generally leak free. My son did have to grow into the overnight diaper and the first time I tried them I did not like them. For night time leaking you can also double diaper, using one in his current size and one the next size up. We did this for a while until the huggies overnight diapers began to fit. I hope this helps. Good luck.
Luvs are good. they are the cheapest route i would go. I use to hate when my MIL when buy us offbrand diapers. THEY SUCK. Huggies Pampers or Luvs...
I tried so many different diapers with my oldest son and Huggies were the only thing that seemed to work. My second son, it didn't seem to matter - he just didn't leak like his brother. Currently we are using Kirkland (Costco brand) for both my 21 month old and 2 1/2 month old. In my experience, unfortunately, it seems diapers fit different kids different ways. You may just have to try different brands until you find one that works for your son.
I have only used Luvs. I get them at BJs. A large box costs $29.99, but they often have $5 off coupons.
