Is there a good way to get rid of belly fat? I gained a lot of weight from having my son 4 years agao and I'm still carrying around some of weight, especially in the belly area. I exercise and I am losing weight but I still have my mommy pouch! :(

I can't speak for the pouch specifically, but I stopped drinking soda altogether and dropped down two pants sizes in less than a month!

Thats great that you are loosing weight....just keep at it. What works best for me after my babies is just count my calories until I shed all the weight and then target my tummy area with lots and lots of crunches. Because really no matter how many crunches you do you really wont see much result until the weight from your tummy is gone. So I know it's hard but just keep at it. Keep shedding the pounds!

If you can hold your body straight to do a boys' pushup, that works pretty much your whole body. Do as many as you can each day, my goal is 50.

Some of it may be genetic. I put all my weight on my hips and have a tough time getting rid of it even while training currently for a 1/2 marathon.

How you eat, when, what quantities, etc. will all make a difference.

Is working with a personal trainer to target your belly an option? It's never been one for me. I'd also recommend trying something like working with a Dietician (you may be surprised at insurance coverage of the costs) or doing something like Weight Watchers online as effective ways to overall reduce your caloric intake and make healthier food choices.

Exercising is fantastic! Are you doing exercises for your problem areas? You mentioned the "mommy pouch", did you know that you can do abdominal exercises while standing, that don't overstress your back? If you need support, hold onto a chair or the wall. Standing tall, with relaxed shoulders, bring your knee up to your chest, now try it while twisting to the same side~ bring up right knee, twist right. You can also do standing "sit ups", go through the same motions as if you were laying on the floor~ hands on your head behind your ears, bend toward the floor pulling your belly button to your back, You can work out more muscles if when you return to straight, lean back slightly. If you have exercise TV ~ Comcast On Demand, or go to www.exercisetv.com ~ you can find many exercises there to help individual trouble spots and overall toning. I hope this helped
