Hi Mom's,
do you think 2 1/2 is too early to start a sticker reward program for good and bad behavior?

What can I do next?

Not at all I started at about the same age with my 2 and they are 3 and 5 now. The greatest reward is when we are out and everybody who is around my children tell me how well behaved my kids are its great. They love stickers still. They have sticker albums that we still use together just for some arts and craft time as well.Actually thats what my son did for his 100 days of school project...a sticker poster of 100 animals that would be on noahs ark it was really cute 1 we will save for a keepsake.

I started using stickers for potty training my son at age 2 (as he was starting to show interest and his cousins were potty training at this time too so it was a group effort) - he TOTALLY got into it and was very motivated to be able to put "smiley faces" up for his successes....however, I did find that the true training results came after we introduced the drawing of a frown face when he had an accident. We didn't make a him feel badly, but did want to show the difference between success and non-success--and it REALLY worked. He did NOT like having to put a frown face on the chart--and within a week he was having almost no accidents!

Totally a believer in sticker/process charts!

Hey J.

I had my son earning stickers at 2 years old. I also made a chart of things to do each day that he earned stickers for doing it was great for him

I think it's the perfect age to start a sticker reward program. It worked for my daughter when she was 2 1/2 & potty training....kids this age love to feel like they accomplish things & getting stickers for thei sticker books is an accomplishment for them :)

We are using it now for our 2.5 year old to help her remember to use her please and thank you's and to use her big girl words when she wants or needs something instead of whining. It works great!
We let her be in charge of putting her stickers on the chart, when she earns 5, she gets a special treat. (trip to playground, etc.) Good luck!

It's a great idea. We used it to potty train our daughter...2 months and we're all set. Now she tells us that she's too big for stickers...she's only 3! :)
