We used Synergy Builders out of West Chicago. LOVED THEM! They are willing to do as much or as little as you want. My husband and I are pretty handy, but we didn't want to deal with drywall, so we had them go up to drywall and we did the rest (baseboards, doors, window casing, painting, etc.) We also had them install the shower in the bathroom (because it was so big), but we did the toilet, sink and fixtures. They took care of the building permits and that step made sure that all electrical and plumbing were up to the building code, which gave me added peace of mind.

Are you or your husband handy by chance? We are going to finish ours this summer but we are doing it ourselves. The only help we are going to need is a plumber to do the rough in for the bathroom, HVAC guy to run the duct work and a drywall finisher. We have friends who will do all of those things for very cheap. As far as framing out the walls, hanging drywall and laying flooring, we will do that ourselves.

If you are not going to do any of it yourself call a couple contractors and have them come and bid it, have the bids written in detail, you will need electrical, hvac and probably plumbing. Dont always take the lowest bid just because especially if it is crazy low usually that ends up a disaster. A contractor will usually have a few other guys come in to the specialty stuff- electrical plumbing make sure you get them all checked out get references. Especially in times like these contractors are looking for work wherever they can get it but make sure you get a trustworthy guy. My husband has been in construction 30 years and you wouldnt believe some of the stuff he has had to go in and fix.
good luck

We used Owens Corning when we did ours. It takes about 2 weeks. They only do ceiling and walls and there isn't a lot of variety to choose from as far as color so, depending on what you're looking for, they may not work. It is more expensive then hiring each part separately but it is all over with quickly so may be worth it to pay the extra money if you want it done. Good Luck!
