Babysitting Services

hi there! what i've been using is local college career services and posting online exactly what i'm looking for (experience with toddlers, infant/child cpr, no smoking, etc.). i don't know if any colleges are nearby, but i was lucky in that we are close to BU and BC. my daughter has fantastic sitters at great rates!

Yes, I have used sittercity. I have found sitters that I've used quite a lot. There are a lot of college students, and they're great, but availability can be spotty. But there are all types of care givers on there. Yesterday I interviewed a woman who's got a few grandkids. She seems great and has good experience, and lives right in my town. You can do a background check and check references. I'd only have high school girls if I was relying on word of mouth so it has certainly helped me.

My sister uses it and it works. Just many moms do not reply back.

I used Sittercity to find my current sitter. While there can be some "flakes" (for lack of a better word) I found most I talked to to be very responsible. I did have 2 women that did not show up after we scheduled a time to meet, one never returned my call after talking on the phone. It does take some searching still but it is great for finding leads, especially when it comes to our kids. I also had a trial with Care.com but didn't actually use it myself.
