We're moving to a house where my 3 year old will be far enough to where I might not hear her if she calls for me and so I want a baby monitor that can have a monitor in her room and one for the playroom as well. Do I need 2 monitors? Will they interfere with each other? Or do they sell ones that are for 2 rooms? Thanks in advance! Any specific brands you like would be appreciated as well! :)

What can I do next?

I have the Summer's video monitor, purchased it on ebay and also purchase a 2nd camera there. You can have 2 cameras in 2 different room (one set on A and one on B) and use the same hand held monitor to switch back in forth. I use this for my 2 children at nights.

They do sell monitors with 2-3 "speakers" and one "microphone." I haven't seen it the other way around, I don't think. My girls share a room and our son is in the room next door. I have a monitor in each of their rooms with a speaker in our bedroom which is across the house. They do not interfere with each other and they are even older ones and completely different brands. You can get them inexpensively at yard sales too, since brand-new ones are like $45.00.

They make monitors that have 2 receivers. We have one of those. We kept one in our bedroom and one downstairs. They are also battery operated so that we could take one outside with us while she was napping. Try to find a coonsignment shop in your area. They only take items that are in great condition. It will be much cheaper. Or check Target.com

I say don't waste your money on anything pricy. See if you can go to a resale shop or on ebay for a different brand and just have two different monitors.

We used one for one kid and the other for the other kid and did just fine with the "cheap" ones.

Plus when the kids got older, we brought one to grandmas summer home and left it there to use when on vacation the next time.

We have two separate monitors. Different brands, tried different channels. They are not compatible. It's frustrating. In our case, our toddler's in her room and our infant daughter's in our room. We can choose to monitor one or the other.
