My daughter was the same. I breastfeed and was told no dairy or soy until all was better, then add in soy first to see how she was with it. The no soy/dairy diet was hard, but it helped me lose all the baby weight and she was better. I saw a gastrointenalogist to be certain of the allergy. There are formulas that are both dairy free and soy free, and some are prescription if you need that. Good luck.

I am truely truely very sorry. My son was colicky for seven months! I'm sure that is not what you want to hear because you want it to stop TODAY. I offer you complete support and please feel free to email me just to vent. I remember thinking the most horrible thoughts and crying every day out of frustration. We used a variety of special formulas and nothing helped. We did try tylenol and it didn't help. I don't think gas drops really helped or gripe water either. The one thing that would lull him to sleep was a tape recording of the vacuum cleaner! It's the white noise that helped. This may be discouraging, but trying different formulas may still help you. If nothing else at least you feel like you did all you could do. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

you may want to try switching to soy, as many babies are easily challenged by cows milk. there are also other milk-based formulas that are made specifically for reduction of colic. are you breastfeeding or serving formula? if you are breastfeeding, i would try cutting all dairy from your diet to see if that works for her. also, i recently read something about probiotic supplements helping cure colic: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0ISW/is_252/ai_n##...#

good luck,

My three month old suffers from colic as well, but I use Enfamil Nutramigen and it is very expensive but i tried soy and that didn't work either but when i did the nutramigen it was heaven. He sleeps all through the night and loves to hear the vaccum on.

Soy is also not a great idea at this age because soy itself contains chemicals that effect one's hormones...it's especially important to watch the amount of soy our children get, and soy is in everything....more info here: http://www.mothering.com/articles/gr...soy_story.html. The effects of the plant estrogen in soy can cause premature puberty.

It is actually called Mylacon. You could also use Gripe Water. Perhaps you could use Rescue Remedy. You would have to check the package to see if Rescue Remedy is appropriate for babies. It is used to comfort and calm. Good luck!

Mylicon drops are wonderful!!! My kids didn't like the soy... besides it made their poop STINK! Good start worked much better than the similac. But I think that the thing that really worked was the drops.

My daughter had colic from 0-3 months until we put her on Enfamil Neutramagin Formla. It was heaven sent!!! I was breastfeeding her exclusively at the time and had given up all dairy. She was still super fussy even though I wasn't passing on any dairy to her. As soon as she had the formula, she calmed down within a day. We also used the Mylicon drops. One more thing I highly recommend is get the video "The Happiest Baby on the Block" It teaches you how to calm down your baby and it really worked for us. You can get it on Amazon and it was a worthwile investment!!!

I switched to soy and Dr Brown's bottles with a few Mylicon gas drops in the bottle. I also got Baby's Bliss Gripe water (ginger and fennel water) from www.drugstore.com and it really helped. Hang in there! I know it is hard but it will only get better. Good luck!

My daughter had colic from the moment she was born, and it got so bad as time went on that we actually had to give her liquid zantac twice a day in order to control it. In tandem with the zantac, we switched to soy formula and we used mylicon drops as needed (they work GREAT!). Her colic and constant spitting up went away overnight - the soy formula is still fortified with all the same vitamins and minerals as milk based formula, but is much less difficult for babies tummies to digest which cuts down on the colic a ton.Infants have a hard time digesting the complex proteins in milk based formula whereas soy has much simpler proteins that the babies digestive system doesn't have to work as hard. Mylicon drops are a godsend for many parents, and when you feel that her tummy is all bubbly and she is unhappy, give them to her. They are super safe.
Follow your doctors orders and your babies colic will go away!
