I am 35. Shoot. 36 today :(,I get B12 shots monthly. Those are the best invention by humankind. Love them. Yes, I notice a difference right away. Wish I got them every 2-3 weeks. I notice the effect decreasing by the 3rd week. i am seeing my doc today and will 'beg' to get them more often. Over the counter B12 does not work (none of them).

I guess it depends on why you're getting them. I've heard some people really notice a difference. I have pernicious anemia and have to get them monthly for life. I also have iron deficient anemia too so I really don't notice a difference at all, still seem fairly tired all the time.

I LOVE them! LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I can tell a difference for about a week after receiving one. Mind over matter? Maybe, but they definitely give me a boost!

My mom's side of the family gets them monthly. They have Crohns disease, which is a digestive/colon issue, and need them. I know for a fact, after giving my mom her's for a couple years, that they are amazing. B-12, as my family gets it, is SC shots (meaning small, insulin needle) and it's almost painless. Everyone one in my mom's family who takes them, say they feel amazing afterward and that it really helps.

My mother at age 92 had been on B 12 injections for years, then I put her on the best Nutrition one can get and the next month she didn't need them. She is now 97, still takes her nutritional supplements every day, has perfect blood work, health is better than she was five years ago.
I helped a friend with terminal cancer, going through chemo, ready for blood transfusions and was B 12 injections and other weekly shots besides B 12 to build his blood counts. Within a month, didn't have to have tranfusion or B 12 any more, had significant improved quality of life over the next year.
If you are seriously interested and want a difference, I can help you understand how and to learn more. No obligation to sign up for anything either.

I'm curious why you are getting them. They were suggested for my younger son but we stayed with the sublingual.

I'm always curious to know the underlying cause of an mB12 deficiency. For us I think it may be related to an MTHFR mutation (both sides of the family) which makes it harder to absorb folate. This is just my "mom" opinion based on years of dealing with this issue (I'm not a health care provider of any type but we've seen plenty of them LOL!).

We take a special folic acid (and sublingual mB12) and it seems to help with energy.

I still wonder if we should do the shots . . . let us know if it helps you.

My husband had to get them for a while, now he just takes a B-12 supplement. He said it helps him tremendously. He didn't really have the problem with being weak and tired, but rather with stomach issues.

They definitely give you energy and such... my mom gets them because she has chemo and it wipes her out.
