I had a negative birth experience with my daughter who was born in January by emergency c/section. I really don't think it was necessary so I am looking to switch from my Dr who delivered to Dr. Louis Klein. Does anyone go to him? I am looking for any advice/opinions on him. Thanks

What can I do next?

I don't know Dr. Klein, but East Bay Perinatal does VBACs. Also check out ICAN, its a great organization for VBAC moms. Good luck!

Hi A.,
Congratulations on your baby girl! I actually used to work with Dr. Klein and have known him and his family for about 13 years. I have also had him deliver both of my girls (4 1/2 & 8 months) He is an amazing Dr. and loves what he does which shows in the way that he cares for his patients. I know that he believes in doing VBAC's and will be very honest with you in helping you make that decision. I hope this helps.
L.

A.: I am an experienced RN in Labor and Delivery and have some advice for you. I don't know all the MD's at San Ramon, but one reason they won't do a VBAC is because it's a level II hospital and they do not have a 24 hour in house OB. When woman are having a VBAC is required to have an in house OB while the patient is laboring and they don't have that capacity or that. Also, it really depends on the reason for the 1st c/s as to whether you should have another c/s. I am sorry you had a poor experience recently but I don't think Dr. Klein is all that great. Maybe you should check into MD's at John Muir- my top picks are Dr. Anderson, Dr. Hannah, Dr. Leach. BUT I don't know what their opinions are on VBAC. I just think these MD's are very skilled and professional (I've worked w/them). Hope that helps!
