N., you're gonna do great! I know you. You're a strong lady and when you resolve, you resolve. :) If your doctor doesn't have one to suggest, here's what I found...

Lap-band Moms!
I'm quickly approaching my surgery date and some days I waiver in my doubts about whether or not I can really do this. I need as much support and preparation as I can get. I need to find a lap-band counselor or a support group to go to. Do you know of any?

I had the gastric bypass about 4 1/2 years ago at Baylor of Dallas. They have support groups but I was unable to attend since I also live in Arlington. I found a support group at Arlington Memorial Hospital. You can go to the support group there even though you did not have the procedure there. The people who go to the meetings have had and/or will have the gastric or lap band. It meets once a month. I found the meeting VERY helpful!! I have not gone for about a year and half because I was pregnant and then had baby. But I will be going back soon so that I can get back on track. Here is the phone number to get location and time ###-###-####.
Baylor Irving, September 20th, 6:30-8:30 Medical Office Building II, Park in the parking garage, all are welcome, it'll be worth the drive to meet with a room full of others who know your struggle. You can also bring along your support person. Here's some on-line support until then.

Call Harris Methodist Fort Worth. I think that u can get the information from their doctor referral number or website. I know they had a support group two years ago. Best of luck!
