We're thinking that we might want to try WOW internet service & phone service since they're rated first in the consumer report - just wondering if anyone is currently using them and have bad experiences? I work from home a lot so need a really reliable internet service provider...thanks!
I lived in Naperville and had high speed internet and cable from WOW! We loved them. Very reasonable prices and excellent service. We moved to Warrenville last year and had to go with Comcast instead. I couldn't believe the difference. WOW!'s service is so much more reliable and the customer service people are much more helpful and nicer. I can't wait for WOW to expand their service. I'll switch in a heartbeat as soon as it's available.
We have had highspeed internet service from Wide Open West since November of 2003. We've been very happy with their service reliability. Over the course of 3 1/2 years there have been no more than four "incidents" where service was unusually slow or out for no longer than a day. My husband works from home regularly and I do occasionally and these very, very intermittent outages have not been a huge inconvenice. When reporting these few problems, we have always had responsive and concerned (and informed!) customer service people.
We have not signed up for their phone service, so I cannot comment on that offering they have.
This is a very good question, I also want to get more information, because they much cheaper, my husband is afraid to try them. Also it is interesting how fax works with it.

WOW doesn't have service in Bolingbrook. I called them and they said they can't service my area. :(
