Diarrhea for 5 days is a really bad sign! Definitely call the doctor. If you can't get an appointment right away, go to the grocery store and buy Pedialyte. It's water made specifically for infants with diarrhea so that they won't get dehydrated.

This could be the flu or a stomach ache. But's it's kinda early for flu season...

He should see a doctor. Diarrhea for five days can cause dehydration, even if you're giving him plenty of fluids. It sounds like the flu, but it's best to double check. I'd be particularly concerned about dehydration with the diarrhea.

Hey S.,
Has your doctor done an Anal Strep test? It takes about 5 minutes after they swab the anal area. My son had it for 4 months that included 2 separate trips to the hospital for dehydration because the diarrhea persisted for that whole time to varying degrees.
I took him to his pediatrician 4 times during that time period and talked with the nurses at the desk who told me not to worry about it. None of them caught it. It was an LPN at the Pediatric Urgent Care that said let's try this swab. She was the only one who took off his diaper and actually looked at him from that end.
I hope this helps and good luck with your little guy!

Definately call the doctor because the diarrhea can cause dehydration quickly, and the fever above 100 can be a sign of an infection.

my son had the same thing earlier this year it was the flu they said that there was not a whole lot you can do. our last 12 days my son would only drink power aid not gator aid we alternated the motrin and tylenol give motrin then 6 hours later then give tylenol then 6 hours later due motrin etc etc. and as long as they are getting liquid of some kind he was ok but still seek medical advice in case it is something serious you need to mention the age of the child under a year should seek immediate medical advice my son at the time age is 3 they said that it runs its course from 7- 12 days and we went the full 12 so good luck

my stepdaughter currently has the stomach flu, with most of the symptoms you named. make sure they drink fluids, but not pure juice or pure water, either a mixture of both or pedialyte. if they dont like pedialyte, gatorade works too. try to get them to eat, but they wont eat much. NO DAIRY, well try not to. except yogurt. crackers are good too. that is what the doctor will tell you. my stepdaughter has had it for a week now. if youd feel better taking him/her to the doctor, do it. but let them rest, and make sure they drink!! hope it passes, i know i do

With those symptoms, I agree with Brenna, that Rotovirus is a very strong possibility. It would be a good idea to check it out with your doctor or an urgent care center because as the other moms said, dehydration is a big concern when you have a child with diarrhea. Also, a doctor can rule out other possibilities that may be more serious.

You can alternate tylenol and motrin for fever and pedialyte and gatorade are good for dehydration. It is a good idea to stay away from milk products when a child has diarrhea, unless you are breastfeeding, then I would talk to a pediatrician.
Juices tend to be harder to digest and are not a good idea with diarrhea. I am not sure if the symptoms are for your son or daughter. If they are for your daughter, the BRAT diet works real well for diarrhea if it can be tolerated. That is Bananas, Applesauce, Rice, Toast.

Hope that helps! You can message me if you have questions.

It sounds like flu. Take them to the doctor. Most of the time if they have diarrhea for more than 3 days take them to the doctor.

Rotovirus and hand, foot, & mouth disease are going around right now. My child isn't even in daycare, I stay at home so he's only around me, and he somehow got hand foot and mouth : (
