I am currently needing to find a daycare for my 2yr old. I have worked in many daycares and it makes me really nervous to place my child in one that I don't know anything about. We live in the moore area, so if anyone has any recommendations on good qualitly childcare I would love to hear it.

Thanks

In the downtown area there is a church called St Lukes Methodist and they have an AWESOME childcare center. I am a stay at home mom, but I've worked in childcare off and on for about 8 years. That daycare is incredibly clean and well staffed. They don't overcrowd the rooms and overwhelm the teachers. Avoid Today's Children at all cost!!! They've had horrible things reported about them and when I worked there I turned them in for multiple things and eventually quit. Check with colleges too, sometimes the local Jr. Colleges have really good childcare, my daughter is on the waiting list at Rose State.

I am sorry that I don't have any suggestions for you. I was just wondering if you had checked with some churches in your area. I know that my church has a Mother's Day Out program that a lot of Mom's use for a daycare type situation. It is 3 day's a week from 9:30-2:30. There may some churches that also just have daycare's in them. Also, what about local in-home daycare's? I think you can call DHS and get a list of the licensed in-home daycare's in your area.

Hope this helps a little.

Hi K.

I have a home child care and at this time I am full or I would be happy to watch your little one. not knowing what part of OKC you are in I don't know how much help this would be, but I know of about 5 providers in home child care on the NW side that are not full. I could give them your number if you would like. If the NW side is not the area you need write me back w/ where and your number and anything else you may need me to let them know like special hrs or days and I can get the word out. You are also more then welcome to call me at ###-###-####. I know a lot of providers that would love to help.

Thanks T.

Look at Moore Broadway Kids at 1920 N. Broadway. My son is now 2 and has been there since he was 6 months old. They're great. It's the best facility I've been able to find and I've seen a lot. You can pull a DHS report too on any daycares that you may be looking at to see if anyone has filed complaints against the daycare. MBK is really good about addressing any concerns you may have and they're really easy to talk to. I wouldn't have my child anywhere else except with me. Let me know if you have any questions. I live in the Moore area too.
