I have an 8 year old boy who gets board really easy. My father watches him for us while we are at work but there is not much to do there. Does anyone have any suggestions of summer programs that don't cost too much money? We tried recreations but they are all full :(

Free movies:
Each of these starts at 10:00 AM on each of the listed days. Seating is first come, first served; some of these movies fill up, so plan to come a little early. Just show up and walk in! Pass the word and have fun!

What about the summer reading programs through the library? Or planning things that your dad can do that are free.
make a cake
make popcycles
see the sun rise over the mountains
take a hike
walk along the river area
sand art project
cleaning up an area
plant some flowers/herbs/etc.
then there are the church summer programs, one week at a time.
Good luck!

I've only been to it once last year, but there's the sprinkler park at the Community Center behind Costco on Southern. It's free. Zoo/Aquarium/Bio Park membership for a full year is $79 for 2 adults & 4 kids (add a 3rd adult for $15). Within the zoo, they now have a water fountain area & playground area. Pay the membership & you don't have to feel obligated to spend all day or see every single animal. Explora is good. I think their membership for a year is $75 for a family (and you don't have to show ID). The dinosaur museum is another good one.

REVISED:
I just found out that this theatre has free movies too. So, depending on which side of town you live in.
