My husband and I each have one of the Rumor phones and we love them. His is blue and mine is lime green. The slide out keyboard is really great for texting. Best cell
phone we have ever had.
I just found out that my husband wants to get me this phone for Christmas. Do you have any feedback...likes/dislikes, or have a similar phone with the keyboard that slides out on the side? Do you find this style to be convenient or cumbersome. Thanks and Merry Christmas!!!

I was just in this position! And I bought the phone and love it. I love the convenience of the qwerty keypad. I could have gotten the Palm for the same price. My reasoning for getting this one is that you can use the number pad the same as a regular cell phone, but for added convenience you can use the qwerty. That way if I need a speeddial while I'm driving, I can still use the touchpad I'm most familiar with. With the Palm, there's only the full letterpad and I'd have to fish for the numbers... The only thing I don't like with this phone is the camera is very grainy unless you get a very still shot! If you can look at it as a quick way to capture a moment that would otherwise go uncaptured, then it's good. If you're looking for a high quality camera on your phone, this isn't the way to go. I take my digital camera everywhere so this wasn't a concern for me. Good luck!
Good phone for texting and emailing. I had it for a while then went to the Instinct, because I wanted the touch screen affect. Overall the Rumor was a good phone. You can find plastic cases for them all over the internet. My husband found me a pink Coach case for it that I had on it for a while.
Hi N.,
I have had this phone for a few months now and it is OK. I like the slide out keyboard feature which is convenient for texting. I tend to drop my phones a lot so it is already a bit loose (but my fault). My husband has the same one (we got a buy one get one cheap deal) and his is fine. Its not as sleek and cute as some of the other phones out there but so far it has been a good choice.
Hey N.,
I have the Rumor I love it! it is so great for texting. and it is lightwt and slim. other full texting phones seem to be heavier. Hope you enjoy it. I have
I have this phone & so does my 14 yr old daughter. She is huge on texting & it is very convenient for that. I wasn't that fast at texting & this phone helped me out big time! It also has a speaker phone. We love our phones & if you ever get the 'dreaded' white screen just take it to the Sprint store & they will replace it. All phones have some sort of gremlin eventually so don't let the naysayers spoil your purchase. Thats the price you pay with electronics, even x-boxs have their quirks. Sprint also has another phone like the Rumor called the Rant & it looks like the Rumor's twin. There is another new phone that just came out called the Lotus & it is somewhat similar to both of these phones. It comes in a few different colors but a nice one for the ladies is the purple one. It's very cute! I've thought of upgrading to that one myself but don't want to do it at X-mas time. I'd rather spend the money on my kids presents. Go to the sprint website & check out all the phones there, that's what I always do. You can do that from home without the salesmen breathing down your neck in the store. I saw a buy one get one free offer for the Rumor the last time I was in the Sprint store so keep that in mind to save yall some money!
I got a Rumor in May and absolutely hated it! The sideways slideout drove me crazy - I think I kept it for maybe two weeks and then I went back and traded it in for a Palm - it has a full keyboard, but none of that hassle of having to slide anything. It is better, but still not my favorite - but, I'm stuck for another year 1/2 because of the upgrade discounts! Disadvantage to the Palm is that it's a smartphone and doesn't hold a charge very long - you have to plug it in every nite.
No don't get this phone!! I got one in february by june my screen went white and it would turn off and on. I contacted lg and they came up with every excuse in the book not to replace it. Just recently i took it to sprint and they replaced it saying that they have alot of complaint on that phone. Something about it having a defect. You might contact your phone provider but i do not recommend this phone!!
I guess it depends on what you might use it for. I am not a texter, so the keyboard does not appeal to me. My husband has one, and personally, I hate using it! I tend to prefer a simple, slimmer phone, that can fit anywhere. But, again, I dont need anything fancy..mine does not hook up to the internet etc. So, really, you just have to decide if a bulkier phone is worth the extra features. ~A.~
